Was he the guy who spent 80% of the 3rd period talking about Kesler?

Grimson has not tweeted since April 27th. Has he commented anywhere on this great run? I don't get local Nashville media so maybe he has acted like he cares about the team somewhere I don't see/hear, otherwise his silence seems a reflection of character. If he didn't already lose his job this type of lack of support should end his future opportunities. Even if you are pissed at management, no good wishes for the players you lauded multiple seasons is heartless.

I don't disagree with that but I would like to know what the real story is here. I'm not a Stu fan at all as far as his on air performance, but unless there is some reason we don't know about seems really crappy if Preds kicked him to the curb now of all times

Maybe should not have brought it up today, but with all the team support from a wide variety of folks having him silent sticks out. Or if I missed something on Nashville radio or quote in Tennessean I wanted to know.

Last tweet was about the Fiala injury or thereabouts. Still lists himself as "Predators broadcaster" on his twitter page. Odd.

It's very weird- pretty much everyone is a part of the coverage- except him

Stu was interviewed about the Preds on NHL Network a couple of days ago on whatever that show is that has EJ Hradek. NHL tonight I think?

Well then maybe it's just a function of his show being off the air

No idea, I had it running in the background while I was finishing up some work on my laptop and was surprised to see him. It was a live interview over Skype or something. Honestly, I didn't pay a ton of attention, couldn't tell you anything that was said. And it's quite possible NHL Network just called him up asking for an interview and it didn't go through the Preds at all. Just thought a Grimson sighting was worth mentioning.

Stu Grimson is on 104.5 for the second time in a week, whereas 102.5 continues to have Chris Mason as a regular guest. (To Stu's credit, he's pretty good) It makes you wonder if Stu's time on TV truly is done and Mason will be the new color guy on FSTN.

I hope so! Stu's voice was so irritating and he didn't contribute anything worth while commentary wise.

So Stu is still a possible add on to the Golden Knights? Stu + draft pick for a single slot machine spin?

I have to say, given the way he played, I was shocked Stu was as good an announcer as he was. If you ever saw him play you'd have guessed his knuckles dragged the ground when he walked. I was shocked to learn he spoke in complete sentences. And I listened to Pete the entire finals.

He'd get pissed off that they would pick some well-known Vegas entertainers to sing the anthems over him.

"I just can't believe you'd let Ringo Starr and Celine Dion sing instead of me. They're not even American."

Stu as a regular on talk radio would be the best-case scenario for everybody:

- Another pro-Predators voice in the market
- Gets the time he needs to articulate his points fully
- Long-winded nature is a desired quality on talk radio
- Clears the way for someone more suited to the booth (i.e., Mason) to take his place

I would agree with this. I don't think I'd mind listening to him go on and on when it wasn't game time and I'd like to get back to the action, please.

You know, I wonder if it'd be worth a mention to PREDsident and 102.5 how Stu would be an asset to Jared and the GM during hockey season and freeing up a slot for Mase would be a net plus, too. Seems like everyone wins in that deal, but especially those of us watching the game on Foxsports! :-)

I agree. Stu was about 750 times better on talk radio during the segments he was on than he is on TV. You pretty much covered all the reasons why. He's also pretty funny when he actually has the time to be himself.

Yeah, I don't dislike HIM, I just dislike the color guy rambling on, whoever it is. I felt similarly about Crispy in later years. Don't be talking about some crazy episode you were involved in in 1991 when there is a game going on right now. Talk about this game! (Unless Cale Hulse is somehow involved. Then I'm all ears)

I can see some improvement in Willy. He seems more comfortable calling the game now. Still a bit stilted and I have always thought he'd be better at color, but he's growing on me.
