On the verge of having seven 50pts players

Before the game against Ottawa tonight:

Alex Kovalev 77
Tomas Plekanec 65
Andrei Markov 55
Saku Koivu 55
Mark Streit 54
Andrei Kostitsyn 49
Christopher Higgins 47
Michael Ryder 29
Guillaume Latendresse 26
Sergei Kostitsyn 25

Kostitsyn just passed the 50 point mark (it's 7-1 now) and Higgins is at 48 points with the second goal of the game.

When was the last time the habs had seven 50 point scorers? Were there any teams in the last few years who have had 7?

I should go check it but I am pretty sure that last years' Sabres had something like seven 50 points players

Edit : They actually add 8 50 points skaters.

you're right. Brière, Drury, Vanek, Pominville, Roy, Afinogenov and Hetch

Edit: and yeah, Zuburus wasn't included in Hockeydb

How many potential 20 goal scorers do they have? Koivu & Markov need 4 each in their last 6 games. Unlikely.

7. We'd need Koivu and Lantendresse (not counting tonight) to get 4 each, and Markov to get 5 to match Buffalo.

http://hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/leagu...000451989.html

the 1988-89 habs had seven 50 point scorers.

Before that, the last team to do the same were the 1982-83 habs had ten 50 point scorers! http://hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/leagu...000451983.html
But yeah, the 80's were known for ****loads of goals. So getting seven 50 point scorers in 2008 is very impressive.

The Oilers of the 80's and the Penguins of the 90's had 7-8 50 points scorers almost every season.
