Breaking bad was famous for its easter eggs and symbols that foreshadow future events.

I doubt Better Call Saul is any different.

Clearly its working.

FWIW I don't think it has any significance.

Agreed on Chuck, I think we are reaching the end of his character. IMO it goes 1 of 2 ways. Suicide, or commitment to an institution.

A 1966 Macallan, 35 years means it was bottled in 2001 or 2002, but it still remains a 35 year old whether it's 2002, 2022, 2500. Once it's out of the cask, it stops aging

Edit: oh, didn't see that someone else already mentioned this.

yes, and the post of mine you're quoting is post-explanation, demonstrating that i now understand how the dating of whiskey works.

I wonder how many seasons this show will go for. Will they end it when they catch up to Breaking Bad or will they keep on going? I mean who knows what Saul was up to whenever he was off screen in Breaking Bad.

When Jesse and Walter are trying to fid a lawyer and Jesse says the famous "You don't want a criminal lawyer, you want a criminal lawyer" and he says that Saul got some guy off charges "like that" (or something similar), would be awesome if they show the cases where Saul gets Jesse's friend off.

Aaron Paul's not doing much these days.
Better Call Saul should lead into the Jesse Pinkman prequel: "*****! The legend of Cap'n Cook"

Is Jesse maybe too young to be believable in a prequel? in 2007 Aaron Paul was 30, playing a guy who was 24. If he showed up in the show now, he'd be a 37 year old playing a guy who's 19.

Characters in their 40s and 50s can get away with this to some extent. But I don't think he can.

It's crazy how he hasn't had really any good/big roles since BB considering how amazing of a job he did in BB. He's been in a few movies, but nothing that's done all that well.

He's the star and executive producer of The Path. 2nd season is over and it's picked up for a 3rd.

Nobody responded to the post about Saul Goodman and the fact that he's used it many times before. Fact is , IMO, the scene in this EP was him actually becoming Saul Goodman.

I hear he's composing a rock opera.

I don't think so. The scene wants the viewer to understand that Howard is still filthy rich, that the firm is still dominant. Howard throwing a nasty gray BB in the pot wouldn't send that message - quite the opposite possibly. We in 2017 don't associate a 2002 Blackberry as the status symbol it may have been then. So they cheated a few years.

I see it as Chuck is fighting to cure himself of his mental struggles. He's a smart guy, a lawyer, quick thinker - he knows his condition is psychosomatic. He's going to fight it until he wins, and then he's coming for Jimmy.

What Chuck is doing is something that therapists do with people with phobias, they slowly expose the person to situations that would induce that phobia (obviously starting with very timid situations) and over time it can help to cure it. Although Chuck looks like he's doing it at a much quicker pace seeing that he went into town. I am curious to see what his plan is to do with the doctor or if it's just to seek treatment. Then I agree, he's going to try to pull something to get back at Jimmy... He may even go after Kim since Jimmy went after Chuck's ex (with the trial), now he'll go after the person that Jimmy cares for. Although it will be because of Jimmy's battery thing that he may finally get over his condition.

...exposure, therapy, right?

We had to do that to my dog who would begin to violently shake every time the toaster oven dinged. We held him next to it and dinged it over and over again until he realized the world's not going to end and nothing bad is even happening. He's fine now.

I was thinking about what happens next in this show and one thing I considered is maybe Chuck, by chance or through spying/digging, determines there is a connection between Mike and Jimmy, and has this a-ha moment where he realizes "oh ****, that's the guy who came to fix my door!" and realizes the extent to which he was outsmarted, then it really gets real.

I don't see that angle... why? Saul is going to order a hit on him.. nope. Mike doesn't care about Chuck.

I kind of wish the story line with wrap up. I enjoy Saul more when he is an attorney.
