Absolutey blows my mind that Sens home playoff games are not selling out. I cannot even comprehend that for a Canadain city.

I find myself cheering for Nashville this year, and its because I find their arena to have some of the best fans in the league. And frankly if Ottawa fans cant even support their team in the final four, why would I.

They've only failed to sell out one game, Game 1 vs. the Rangers.

Attendance last night was 18,615 and capacity is 18,572.

They have standing room which causes the numbers to fluctuate a bit.

At its peak, the rink had seating for 20,500 but they've cut it back quite a bit over the past few years, adding club seating with tables and such in place of regular seats.

Yes, it's a huge arena. I've been there a few times, most recently last season and I noticed how many more upscale seating sections there are now - loges, club seats with big recliner-looking chairs. The concourses are ridiculously spacious when you're used to MTSC. Nice array of concessions too.

But it is pretty far out there. Imagine if the MTS Centre were in St. François Xavier and half the population of Winnipeg lived near Oakbank.

Edit: I should mention Ottawa has the 417 which is quite a bit faster than our roads. So imagine if the MTSC were at Assiniboia Downs and half the fans took the North Perimeter from Transcona/Hwy 15 to get there and back.

That was an entertaining, nasty game.

Too bad the Ducks won in OT.

.
when you live in rural Saskatchewan it's all gibberish to me.

For us it's probably like the arena being by the old barn past the row of 4 tree's (can't miss it, they are the only tree's for miles) on the #1 and taking the #1 to the other old barn with the caved in roof with the fence that leans to the right.

Anaheim vs Ottawa cup final? Happened in 2007. Would be kind of fitting to have a rematch 10 years later.

butt ends to a goalie's head?
the NHL really needs to assess post-game punishments/suspensions for this stuff.
this is getting to be really tiring

Really sucks for Johansen and Nashville
Hope they can pull through (and then lose to Ottawa )

Everyone talks about the Sens 1-3-1 in the neutral zone but they are still doing incredibly well in the dzone. Pens barely have any high danger shots. They are basically shooting the perimeter because the Sens D are keeping them to the outside. Also no one seemed to care when the Kings ran a 1-3-1 NZ trap in their playoff runs but because it's a team without a bunch of sexy names they shouldn't be allowed to.

And their stickwork is incredible. Literally anytime the Pens get the puck the Sens have a stick on it. I don't care what anyone says the 1-3-1 is not the only reason the Sens are here. They are playing elite defence, and generating some great chances the other way because of it. No different then the Kings during their wins.

The refs in this Ottawa-Pittsburgh game are sooooo bad. I have no idea what they'll call, it's really keeping me on my toes.

Gutsy win by the Preds in another nasty game.

Loved watching Perry take a slash to the gloves like he did to Perreault last January.

Not something we in Winnipeg are accustomed to seeing for certain, except when it happens to us.
