De Haan to Buffalo

Buffalo fan interested in CDH. What would it take, Isles fans?

Only way I see the Islanders moving one of their defensemen (other than Hickey) is for a 50+ point 2nd line center under 30.

I'm interested in Kane but not sure how I'd even it out since CDH has the better contact situation. Maybe something like CDH + Kuli for Kane + pick

8th OA pick this year. helps us in the expansion draft so we can protect pulock and hopefully we can grab tippett at that pick

Islanders will have zero interest in Kane for a multitude of reasons.

1. No need for more LW
2. He does not get along with Ladd

How does trading away a better player for a draft pick help in the expansion draft? The Islanders should be protecting Pulock and CDH.

then we lose nelson or strome, don't see the benefit in protecting 5 D 3F. would rather give pulock de haans minutes and gain the strongest RW in the draft which IMO is isles weakest position.

Fair enough. I think you can make room for highly skilled players but I didn't consider his relationship with Ladd.

RNH is your man. We'll take any one of CDH, Hamonic or Pulock.

All jokes aside why is De Haan name coming up? Just got 8-1 protect the d and call it a day

RW is our weakest area but Tippett can not step in this year, and probably not even next. We need a top line or very good 2RW to play this year if we are going to trade CdH, IMO.

Calvin de Haan is worth a lot more than either Strome or Nelson. You protect CDH, without question.

agreed, could fill it in free agency though. I always liked the idea of vrbata or iginla for a season, but with JT in his prime I can understand wanting to go bigger. I was just going with the topic of the thread and I think the 8th OA from buffalo is a fair offer for de haan if isles are looking to move him, otherwise they don't really have anyone that would work for the isles.

No part of Kane. Complete nut job.

Not interested in trading de Haan to be honest. The guy has become a solid and steady part of our defensive core.

Not sure you understand that if you trade de Haan and keep Pulock you're still losing one of Nelson or Strome.

1000% all of this. Honestly given the way the Isles are structured (and their farm system), the only reason to trade de Haan is part of a deal for a better defenseman or elite forward.
