I bet they won't reimburse all the people who got photo radar tickets for no reason.
Really no different than the Whitemud. There was a study last year or the year before saying 100km/h would be fine for most of it except the stretch where it turns and goes over the Quesnell bridge.

They went on to say that it would be too tough to make the change from 100 to 80 back to 100. They also went on to say most don't drive 80 anyway so why change it, which is kinda dumb because I doubt their photo radar is set for 100.

Heard that this morning, very sad. Sounds like it was just after the show he and Soundgarden played that night.

It's so weird. You search his name and you see that 14 hours ago you see the below on his twitter with a pic. It's just so weird when people die suddenly and you can see what their plans are/were just hours before they died.

Detroit finally back to Rock City!!!! @soundgarden #nomorebull****

You can also watch that concert on youtube from people who took videos with their phones.

Probably the most influential musician for me personally. Love his songwriting style, especially some of the alternate tunings he used. So glad I saw him at the Jube last year. Shocked and saddened today. Fell on Black Days and the acoustic version of Like Suicide will be playing all day for me.

If anyone is up - go outside.

It's that rare and quintessential calm before the storm. Nothing is moving, no birds no summer noises. No vehicles like people know. Random gusts of wind.
You can feel the energy though, it's coming but oddly peaceful.

That storm knocked a tree onto my parents house. Thankfully no damage as the tree was dead but could have been very bad for them.

Garner Andrews had the best comment. "Storm really help me out. Had a tree that I needed to cut 20' off off. It has now fallen into my neighbors yard and I don't have to do any work now"

Don't know why people are so selfish, and stupid. My neighbor just burned a bunch of garbage or something in his back yard. Had all my widows open, and now my entire house stinks like ****. I closed my windows, but the damage is already done. All I can smell is acrid, disgusting, smoke. Completely ruined my night. What a ****ing ***hole.

Pens fan here with sort of a weird question. For those of you who live or have lived in Alberta, how often do you use French in your daily life? I tried google and mostly got statistics. Statistics can be useful, but they don't give me a picture of any specific person's regular life.

Thanks in advance.

Je l'utilise de temps en temps. Pratiquement personne ne connaît le français, alors les opportunités sont rares. Pourquoi demandez-vous?

Never. Literally.

That said, there are quite a few ladies that have moved here from Quebec, so if you're single and looking to impress, it might come in handy.

Almost never hear it and I would be in a situation that you would think I should.

Very very very rare in Alberta to hear French used for anything in any capacity. Even when using a ridiculous French accent people still talk in English.

I run into French more often in Tokyo than I ever did in Edmonton.

Thanks for the answers guys! Extremely helpful. And congrats to your boy McDavid for cleaning up at the awards show.

Research for a novel character and/or to figure out if I need to brush up on my French.

Son? You'd be really old if you're old enough to be my dad.

Hey guys, Blues fan coming in peace here. Listened to an awesome interview with Patrick Maroon today that I just wanted to pass along. He spends the first half of the interview talking about the Oilers and he has some great insight and a cool story about McDavid as well.

Hopefully it let's you guys listen from Canada (I know it can sometimes be a pain when I try and watch/listen to things on TSN):

Click on Segment 4: Patrick Maroon. Cheers guys and good luck next season!
