River City Sports

Not sure where else to post this.
I figure alot of people on this site have used River City Sports to purchase items.
Well- my wifes credit card was illegally used overseas for some $2000. Thing is, she only used it at River City Sports.
Fast forward to last nite, where I noticed my card was charged on by someone else.
I have also used my card on the River City Sports website as well.
So- I was just wondering if anyone else that has used their debit/credit cards on the River City Sports website, has had some unfamiliar charges pop up on their statements???
This is the only place where I can think of that both our card info was stolen.
Thanks for any info

I've only bought once from RiverCity and have had no problems with them. I've also heard good things about their professionalism.

I would contact them as they sound like a good company. There might be a security problem with their website that they don't know about.

Thanks for the heads up though. I'll just call them next time.

You could have a keylogger on your computer too.

I'm going to guess that the problem is on your end. Run a virus scan, errr, get a mac.

Also, if running windows to not use the auto complete feature that saves information and automaticlly places it on your online order forms. IT also applies to password saving feature. That feature has a huge security hole. IF you have this activated delete any info and turn it off.

Have those credit accounts closed and transfered to a new account. IF you do not this will happen again!

i work at a bank and let me tell you, it's not as hard to steal people's info as they may think. Robber's easily have atleast a dozen different methods THAT WE KNOW ABOUT...it's scary but those mother ****ers are smart as hell.

I figured it wasnt RCS, but I just wanted to make sure.
I luckily check my bank statement every other day, and caught the $1.95 charge they put on there.
Thats what they do before they start charging big bucks.
Anyways- they had to close my card, and are sending me out a new one.

You might want to get with protection agency that will keep track of your credit card usage. There are companies out there that will protect your identity and arrest the guy the minute it's used.

If you have a key logger on your computer, which by the way is very easy to install, you might run into this problem with your new card.

I recommend that you take your computer down to your local "Help me delete this virus off of my machine" store and have them do a scan.

I have a lot of protection on my machine, but to play it safe, I take it in every once and a while to make sure. Generally they find a trojan or two. Hackers are always trying to stay one step ahead of everyone else.

Pre-paid Legal has a service that will protect your identity, It's worth the investment.
