Trying to get new gloves

This kid is offering to sell me these:
http://www.hockeygiant.com/eaglex72.html
in my team colors for $70. He says it's brand new and he's a friend so I believe him. I'm not a fan of how they look, but is this a good deal?
I'm currently using Pro 4 Roll's but they're red and totally clash with my team colors.

Uh so he's giving you like 50% off and states they brand new....and you don't think it's a good deal?

But then again, only a good deal if you like them so stick your hands in them and find out yourself.

I see what you mean, but I'm a strong believer in if it's too good to be true it probably is . I don't know, I've bought from this kid before (he sold me a stolen AK 27 blade for $20 and I'm still using it).

Eagles are great quality gloves, hence the high price.

I usually don't like gloves that aren't black, but the white cuff makes those look pretty sharp.

Get them if they look sick with your teams colors/uniforms.

haah I know they are, our symbol is the bulldog so we have an extremely homosexual paw in the middle of our jerseys.

Just buy some new NBH 4 Rolls. They sell them in Navy I'm pretty sure. You can search around for some Pro stocks that may match better.

My friendly advice would be:

1. Don't buy stolen gear. You help create a market for stolen gear, which creates an incentive for people to steal. One day, the person who gets stolen from will be you. Even if it never happens to you, you are making it that much worse for all the rest of us to participate in the community of hockey players.

2. Don't buy anything from someone who once sold you stolen gear, even if he says this item isn't stolen. If he's selling you brand new gear at cut rate, something probably isn't right. If he bought them for his own use and has the receipt to prove it, but decided he no longer wants them, that would be legit. But in that case, why can't he return them for full value? Something is likely not right here.

3. Don't even associate with someone who traffics in stolen gear. Eventually, you may get caught up in something you don't want to be caught up in.

Just my opinion though.

except for the palms. They need better material right where you hold the stick

He told me it was stolen a week after I had it installed and all, after asking him why he sold it for so little.
He actually used it once before he sold it to me, but it was still pretty mint. (the AK blade)
He goes to my school and he wanted gloves that matched our jerseys so he bought those eagles, but apparently he got Vapor XXX's that he prefers over them so he wants to get rid of these.
