Well that's good, but for me it's the Cup or a disappointment; the Glorieux making it to the final and then loose wont make me happy, i'm not a Sens fan. If we loose we have to go through a 84 games season, beat the Ruins 8 times and make another 16 wins in the playoff next year, that sound sooooooo long. Hear me hockey gods!

I concur.

6-14-1 under Hanlon.

33-17-7 since Boudreau took over. They actually have a slightly better record than the Habs since Boudreau came in.
Habs are 29-13-5 since we called up Sergei. A 110 point pace for like 3 and a half months.

I used to really worry about Washington, but not as much anymore. Ovechkin scares the crap out of me, but Huet does not.

Tanking = No glory. You wanna beat the best and if you don't, so be it and improve your team for the next year.

Besides, Washington might be worse than their record indicates, you know, playing in the southeast...

What are you guys so afraid of? The Caps can barely pull off a win against Atlanta without Hossa and a miserable Tampa team. They play in the worst division in the conference. The Caps are a good young team but they are so vunerable at many positions. If you are afraid of a team like that you might as well can give your playoff spot to the Leafs. Guys we are number for a reason dont ya'll think?

**** that. I have too much pride in this team to watch them lose to the Leafs. I don't care if we have 10 wins or 50, I want the Habs to beat the **** out of them every time we play them,

NO. How the hell would the players in the dressing room being feeling if they felt they had to lose a game on purpose to avoid a certain opponent.

It would never happen. They are a top team in the East. They aren't scared to face anyone. Why would they want to lose a game to avoid the powerhouse Capitals????? This players have pride.

Also, they is an old saying.....'Be careful what you wish for'. There is no guarantee that the habs are better off facing the Bruins than facing the Capitals. The past is just that.....the past.

For what its worth, I'd rather face the Caps than the Bruins. Something is creeping me out about the Bruins.

And by the way, Price > Huet... so.. yeah.

I didn't read all the posts. What does "tank" mean? Does it just mean rest some prominent guys like Kovalev, Koivu, Markov? Or does it mean some other way of intentionally losing the game?

Because, while resting players may end up being a viable option next week, depending on how the standings are going, how banged up our guys might be, how the race for 1st place is going, there's never going to be any connection in any of that to trying to pick our playoff opponent. The team would still be playing hard and trying to win regardless of whether any veterans were getting a game off or not.

We. do. not. tank.

Ever.

It's embarrassing to have a thread like this on the board. Sorry OP, not wanting to attack you personally, but heck no.

No, no and a thousand times no! Play to win every second, or don't wear the CH.

My Habs don't tank. They play to kick serious butt.
I'd really like to see them finish first in the conference, it doesn't matter who they come up against. Once you're in the playoffs it's all about how you play for each second in each game no matter how strong/weak your opponent is, anyway, so what does it matter if we face the Caps or the B's?

It is the playoffs, regular season doesn't mean sqwat anymore...anything can happen in a 7 game series, so no you don't blow any game...go into the playoffs on a winning note because no matter what you are going to face a tough team at some point.

That's what i'm saying man. It's true that we can't underrate other teams, but at this stage of the season is it even possible TO BE AFRAID of facing a team...

No.

You do not choose your opponent
You do not insult the Gods of Hockey
You do not abandon the Ghosts of Montreal
You do not let your fans who paid good money for their tickets down
You do not show unrespect for another team
