The G League has no credibility. It's no AHL.
HAHAHAHA. I was like 'isnt it the D-League?', and somehow that story slipped past me. Who was the marketing exec wizard who came up with the Gatorade League?

Would the NBAPA even agree to sending lottery picks out of HS to the minors?

The way NBA rules are setup though the team with the best player almost always wins. That's just something with how the game is setup. Nothing toward developing talent of the reserves is going to change that.

I've been to 2 D-League games. For entertainment value, compared to minor league baseball and minor league hockey, it's a distant 3rd.

The NBA also does not want guys to come straight out of high school. Yes, Kobe Bryant and Lebron James did, but the issue is the league does not want a team to spend the #1 pick on a guy out of high school who's a bust. Having him play in college (or Europe if he chose) for a year is designed to make sure the guy is as good as everyone thinks against significantly better opposition.

This is what is silly about the current setup. If a guy is good enough to play right away, play him. If he isn't, send him to the D-league to hone his craft/get stronger. But a team should be the one controlling the development, and the player should be able to get paid.

This idiocy of having to go through the charade of a calculus class because you can grab 12 boards a night needs to stop.
