Who would be your best addition???

Forget FA's and all that stuff...
I want to throw this question out there... Who do you think is the best possible addition to the habs this off season?

Mine would have to be getting Michael Handzus up the middle. I would LOVE to see Gainey solve the problem with lack of size up the middle.

Option #2 would be Bonk in Ottawa,

Or if Langdon retires, I'd love to see Chris Simon here, or Matt Barnaby

Hmmm...

I would get lapperriere, shape up Hossa to be able to play on the second line, bring Higgins, and try my luck getting Demitra...

Try to be realistic...
Jovo will never leave Vancouver.
Bonk always disapear during playoff.
Changing half of your rooster is looking for trouble.

I will try to get Barnaby or Ian Laperrière. After this year playoff it easy to see that we still lack some grit on our rooster.
Signing Kovalev will be great also.

It would be great:

Zednik - Koivu - Kovalev
Konowalchuk - Ribeiro - Ryder
Bulis - Laperrière - Ward
Higgins - Plecanek - Bégin

But, don't forget Langdon...

Im sticking too Higgins, Hossa, Perezhogan, Pleks, and Hainsey. Kovalev the only big ufa we sign!

Zednik, Koivu, Kovalev
Hossa, Ribs, Ryder
Begin, Pleks, Bulis,
Higgins, Dowd, Perez/Langdon

Markov, Komo
Souray, Breezy
Hainsey/Cube, Rivet

8th D- Bocheumin(sp?)

Theo
Garon

Overal this way we bring in youth, where every new guy gets one or two experienced guy on his line (not all may make it however), lower salary by not spending extra on other ufa, and ultimately continue the rebuilding.......

I'd like to see Hossa get another shot. As much as I'd like to see Plekanec get a chance, I'd rather get a guy like Laperriere to get some more sandpaper in our lineup. Begin was a huge lift for our team this year, imagine a guy like Laperriere with him! Kovalev is also a must...Koivu would finish with 80 points for sure if he played with Alex.

Also, Ribeiro wouldn't have to worry about getting checked by the top checkers of the other teams because they'd have to worry about Kovalev and Koivu's line. This makes re-signing Kovalev a must.

On D, Komo becomes a regular to replace Q. As much as I like the desire Bouillon shows, I think Hainsey deserves a chance to play. This would be his last shot I guess.

Cap

Ya but you may have stacked a bit too many rooks on that roster. I don't know if that would go over well.

Avery would render Begin somewhat useless, though. He's like Begin just better.

I would agree with Mooch.
I think Hossa might be given the chance on the second line.
Higgins, Pleks and Hainsey will see time up in Montreal as well.
Perezhogan will have to get past his upcoming suspension first. The habs will not bring him up if the AHL suspends him. Do they have a choice?

All Hossa has shown so far is an impressive last name. Let Hossa prove himself in the minors like everybody else. I for one do NOT want to se him with the Habs until then.

Give me a break with this " tight budget" bull****.

The habs have always been in the top tier in terms of payroll. That will continue. If we need to spend money and the return is good GG will open the burse.

We might not have the luxury to be that patient. He needs to stick with the team next year otherwise he gets put on waivers. There is no chance of him getting through the waiver without being grabbed by another team.

Why give you a break, its something you have to take into consideration. With Kovalev maybe being signed, thats 4 or 5 or 6 million dollars for him alone, if not than great, we can purchase some good FA's. There also might be a cap next year so I'm just saying that (with Kovalev taken into consideration) you can't get as much as you would like for next years roster. Hopefully we will have a few rookies step up for the habs with good skill and a small salary. I'm anxious to see what happens next year with the team
