There have actually been some legal cases about this. An NFL player sued a reporter who had released his medical info without his permission. The reporter ended up paying out in a settlement, which means they thought there was a good chance they would lose. So, yeah, I think this is a pretty bad move by Baker.

There's a bit of a difference between tweeting out something someone told you and literally posting a picture of someone's medical records

Glad he should recover and it appears to not be a longterm problem. Maybe we can turn this good news into a trend of positive off-season news for the Sabres.

What are the possible consequences to a team if they don't inform the NHL that a player has a concussion?

What are the consequences to a coach and GM if they kept their owner in the dark about this?

Why would Okposo even want to keep this secret if they weren't trying to coverup that he had a concussion?

(1) Commissioner will be pissed; with legal action pending, and evidence of teams either sugarcoating, misdiagnosing, or encouraging concussed players to play concussed, is not beneficial to a monstrosity of a lawsuit on their hands. I'd imagine that the commissioner will stand pat as a result of the concussion lawsuit that they refuse to acknowledge.

(2) They'll probably be fired. Oh, wait...

(3) I don't think anyone on this board, or in general, should speculate on a conspiracy regarding a concussion.

I'm just happy he's progressing. Leave legalities to the wayside, because hopefully, it won't even come close to broaching that topic. I just hope he can come back healthy. It's such a ****ing scary thing.

In Hamilton's article about the Botterill press conference, he added this at the end:

I’m only adding this to the article because I know many of you have had a lot of concern about Kyle Okposo. I ran into him and his family today and he looked great. I just briefly asked him how he felt and he said MUCH better. Forget about player/media, it was very good to see him out and about and looking so good.

Quote:
Kyle Okposo suffered a concussion, according to Sabres teammate William Carrier, and a corroborating report says an adverse reaction to medication while treating the injury is what landed Okposo in a neurological intensive care unit.

Buffalo’s season took a scary turn in early April when Okposo was admitted to Buffalo General Medical Center. The Sabres said he was dealing with “symptoms from an illness,” and they’ve had no further comment. The neuro ICU is reserved for the most seriously ill or injured patients, leading to the possibility Okposo’s condition was life- or career-threatening.

Carrier appeared on French-speaking RDS television this week and was asked about Okposo. Carrier told the hosts the ailment that required hospitalization was a concussion.

Citing a source, Kris Baker of SabresProspects.com has reported that Okposo had a reaction to medication he was taking for post-concussion problems.

There's some really nasty side effects on some of that medicine. 1 makes your skin come off like a burn victim.

I'm very glad he's getting better. His family must have been extremely worried.

Baker already released what it was. The tweet is on the bottom of page 2.
