A former Bruins defenseman likes what he saw with Charlie

Does his pops get to retire after the second contract when he gets the Doughty money?

I don`t care what number he wears, I care only how he plays

Number is a number, it gains character with the guy and the way he's wearing it.

It's reversed Bergy anyway

What do you think McAvoy's usage is going to be next season?

5vs5 : 1st pairing ?, 2nd pairing ? 3rd ?

PP : 1st wave or 2nd wave ?

PK : 1st wave, 2nd wave or None

What are the best expectations we can have from him ?

- Werenski's type of usage : PP heavy, barely no PK - ~20-22 min/G

- Provorov's type of usage : 2nd wave PP (limited), PK heavy - ~20-22 min/G

I think they'll put him with Chara on the first pairing. They worked well together in the playoffs and it'll be good for Chara to have a partner with young legs who can skate it into the zone.

As much as I'd love to see Krug-McAvoy on the PP I think they'll let McAvoy QB the 2nd unit. Make both of them a threat, and give McAvoy more experience with being the biggest weapon on the PP.

I'd say pretty limited/sheltered PK time, but I'm sure the team wants him to be a "play in all situations" type of guy so he'll get experience with it. He was playing crazy minutes in the Ottawa series... 25-31 minutes. Hard to tell how much he'll play, but I think he'll have an excellent year. He has to be one of the favorites for ROTY.

Maybe time for a new nickname for the garden?

Unique circumstances as this is a bit of a low point league-wide for top prospects, but this thread made me realize we actually have an argument for having one of the best prospects in the league:

I sort of liked it, stood out. Given that the single digits are all retired except the cursed number 6, he can't wear 7, wearing Seventy....whatever is not bad. Sure beats another D wearing a number in the 40s or 50s.

He wears 25 for Team USA but I don't know the history if that is assigned or something else.

He wore 7 for BU. He comes to the Bruins who have retired 7 and 77 and sees the best player wearing 37. So he inverts. I like it.
