That's the spirit. Seriously, I am considering this training camp for next year. Lets have some fun with it. For once it matters if they win or lose, every other year it was nice to see them win but never really expected it and most certainly did not matter.

This is good news in Jacket Land. Now we have to beat up Chicago and the Preds. We must still believe. Until the math says it won't happen.

Vancouver might well slide out because of this. It's a crack in the door. We gotta capitalize on it!

There's still Nashville, Chicago, Phoenix, and Edmonton ahead of us.

Schedule for those ahead of us

Vancouver Canucks
Fri Mar 28, 2008 Canucks Wild
Sun Mar 30, 2008 Flames Canucks
Tue Apr 1, 2008 Avalanche Canucks
Thu Apr 3, 2008 Oilers Canucks
Sat Apr 5, 2008 Flames Canucks

Edmonton Oilers
Fri Mar 28, 2008 Oilers Avalanche
Sat Mar 29, 2008 Oilers Flames
Tue Apr 1, 2008 Flames Oilers
Thu Apr 3, 2008 Oilers Canucks

Phoenix Coyotes
Thu Mar 27, 2008 Coyotes Kings
Sun Mar 30, 2008 Coyotes Sharks
Thu Apr 3, 2008 Stars Coyotes
Fri Apr 4, 2008 Coyotes Stars
Sun Apr 6, 2008 Coyotes Ducks

Blackhawks play Preds, Blues, Jackets once and Wings Twice
Preds play Jackets, Wings, Hawks once and Blues Twice

Right now with how the standings are and the teams that are still "in it" I would say that the Preds and Coyotes have the best possiblity to make it.

Seems like we need to be Flames and Avs fans for this next little bit.

Los Angeles has just scored to go up 3-0 on Phoenix....

Tomorrow we need to see the following:

CBJ thumping of Nashville in regulation
Colorado over Edmonton (in regulation)
Minnesota over Vancouver (in regulation)

Guess the part where they were worried that he was going to take a longer time off didn't happen.

STILL not out of it

Vancouver's beating at the hands of Minnesota tonight means that, remote as the shot may be, Columbus still has a chance....

It'd require winning the rest of the games and Nashville and Vancouver both failing to register another point the rest of the way. And since they don't play each other....it can still happen.

That relies on us earning 87 points and Nashville and Vancouver staying at 86. One of those teams could LOSE in OT to eliminate us, technically speaking.

Chance is 0.07651%

Nothing wrong with optimism...as long as it isn't coupled with superiority.

Random: Looking at the standings, we could finish lower in the conference this season than last season. That sucks.

Edmonton just officially put us out. Still a good season all things considered, we've never played a meaningful game after New Years before so we made a lot of strides this year and just need some offensive players in the offseason.
