Imagine people have bugged him about it, but might as well not acknowledge it.

Plus the voting breakdown will be interesting. Whether it swung more towards Nico, or if it's still something close like 5-4 Nico with the other vote going to Makar as Bob mentioned on Vancouver radio last week.

Are the scouts he gets rankings from NHL scouts or just third party scouting services like ISS?

I ask because why would any NHL scouts give him their actual rankings? If they really like a player they are not going to divulge that information and have this player showing up high on Bob's list. They have nothing to gain by sharing their rankings with Bob and I'm sure their teams wouldn't allow this either.

He gets it from NHL scouts. They stay anonymous and having the media in your back pocket can help (realize the certain people Bob always pimps for GM jobs....). Plus, teams rankings can change right up until draft day. It's pretty easily disguised by the fact there are 10 scouts, and I'm sure overall the league likes it, as it increases interest in the draft year-round.

Scouts might want to downplay guys they like, but they also have to convince their GMs to pick their players so there's some incentive to build up hype too. It's not like the first two rounds are much of a secret to anyone. How often do complete unknowns get selected in the top 60 these days? There are almost twice as many players on the CSS lists (400) as there are picks in the draft.

Confirmed 5-4 for Hischier. Lets see if the rest of this list is correct.

So what is Heiskanen's height?

This article lists him at 6'2

I thought the combine had him at 6'0 even

Somewhere between 6'0.5 and 6 foot considering he got measured in shoes. They have him listed as 6'0 in the draft profile by Button.

So Nico Hischier is the #1 rated player in the Nolan Patrick Draft. Good for him tbh.

When does TSN usually reveal their final mock draft? Wed or Thur? That will be the true litmus test. Whoever they have NJ taking #1 will 95% be the pick IMO.

I'm pretty sure "their" mock draft is pretty much Craig Button's mock draft. And I think he has Nico over Nolan so I would assume Craig will have Nico going #1.

Interesting seeing Rasmussen at #9 after most lists having him much lower than that. If Babcock was still in Detroit, I could see them taking him, but thank goodness that's not the case.

Holland mentioned that they'd like a guy who will be ready in 2 years, I see Necas being their guy.

Let's hope NJ. Would be fun to see the AJHL develop a 1st overall pick.

I've tried thinking who it may be and can't come up with anything convincing.
Maybe the Blues to partner up with Parayko.

I know Bob McKenzie has previously stated he really tries to get the top 10 teams in his survey with sometimes others falling just outside.

So if I had my guess at the top 10 who had him, I'd go with detroit.

Could also just be an individual scout, not necessarily reflective of his team's final list.

It's always interesting to see some of the behind the scenes footage of teams doing their draft prep. St. Louis had a video of their scouts putting together their list prior to the 2007 Draft. They had a quick portion on David Perron and I distinctly recall one scout almost angrily dismissing another scout's assessment with a terse "I just don't see it."

Columbus had Derick Brassard ranked behind Staal/Toews/Kessel in 2006, but one of their scouts Sam McMaster felt Brassard was the #2 guy ahead of those three. There's another story of a Leafs scout making a last minute plea to take Joe Sakic over Luke Richardson.

I think it's a scout from Québec who's really high on him.

He works for TSN 1260 I think.

(In french) He says he sees Makar as the best prospect. He compares him to Karlsson and Letang.

I also remember a screenshot of the Blues rankings following the 08 draft. That's the kind of information i really enjoy, not speculating, not a multiple choice scenario just black and white.

That could very well be, and i assume if (as Brodeur suggested) it is only 1 voice as opposed to that teams consensus it would be the head scouts?

That's a bit off. The real story is more painful than that.
