i like norris a lot, and think he does a lot of things the bruins like as well. but personally, i wouldn't pick him at 18. trade down a bit and take him? sure. but based on his impressive combine on top of the bloodlines (his dad played in NHL briefly) and the all-around game, someone could grab him in that 17-25 range. i think he's more of a 30-35ish guy.

i would think they have him higher than that, but we'll see. i wouldn't be upset at that pick considering it seems they're building around a concept that he fits within stylistically. i doubt they would trade down, just in general.

Sportsnet's Jeff Marek final mock draft selection for the Bruins.

18. BOSTON BRUINS
Ryan Poehling, St. Cloud State (NCAA): Reliable two-way centre, the kind the Bruins covet.

Looking at that mock I'd rather gamble and draft elie tolvanen.

With it looking as if the likes of Suzuki and Tippett will not be around at 18th pick my thinking is that Kostin would be a great choice for the Bs. Good size and seems to be excellent at getting his shot off from anywhere in the zone. His game looks like it will translate well to the NHL. I too think he could end up being an early bloomer. He has two years left from what I understand on his KHL contract, but his team can always release him. Of course if he does stay in the KHL for a couple years it might not hurt for him to get that experience considering he is so young.

He's Trent Frederic

At 18 someone is slipping to them

It would be a ballsy move to grab the right shot Yamamoto especially when you see what Marchand is

It depends does one of the 4 drop to them in round 2? Probably not. If none of the big 4 are there then it seems like the right thing is to take a 5th-7th round flier

I think the goalie in round 4-5 could get nice value. But i agree if they dont trade their pick which i still think might happen need to get the best pure snipper

I've been hoping for a Yamamoto pick but if Rasmussen is still available when the Bruins pick I would have a hard time passing him up.

FWIW, I think one of the few questions I have in regards to the prospect pool is if there are any 30+ goal-scorers in there.

I think the Bruins are in a position where they can afford to swing for the fences. I like Yamamoto and Tolvanen.

After much deliberation im all in on Yamamoto, but it seems like such an obvious Blackhawks/Leafs pick.

I would go Kole Lind in round 1 and Goalie Luukonnen in round 2.

FInish goalie could learn from Tooka!

The more i watch highlights of Yammamoto the more I think he plays the game a lot like Mitch Marner.

Yammamoto will be there when the Bruins pick and I would take the gamble and select him, unless of course Suzuki or Necas or Petterson miraculously fall to #18 than I would take any one of those players first.

Couple variables that would seem to be an important in Sweeny's options with the B's 1st round pick. The landscape should be clearer following the expansion selections, the many anticapted deals and cap implications associated with it. The rumoured 1st round pick price some teams are said to be paying to protect players means they may be open to getting a 1st back and in a trade. Coupled with the other teams who are severely lacking many overall draft picks to start with and also potentially have will have holes in their line up does create opportunities for the B's to include their pick in a deal for a significant return.

Shaping up up to be highly entertaining time when the trade freeze is lifted as well as at the entry draft.

I'm a sucker for small guys ever since Samsonov. I'd be happy with Yamamoto

I think Suzuki is strikingly similar to Marner, maybe a bit less raw speed. I'd pay to grab him.

If we stick at 18, I'd love Yamamoto. But Sweeney loves drafting the same player over and over again, so I am assuming it will be Poehling or Norris.

I think the pick is going to be traded (maybe with a prospect ) for an immediate asset.
