The Rangers have gone past regulation in 10 of the last 21 games and 8 out of the last 14.
The way this team keeps things tight be prepared for some long, long gut-wrenching games. If they indeed make a run, hopefully they can start scoring so they don't burn themselves out in the early rounds with so many periods of play.
In two of their better months, where they've played the system well - November and March (18-6-4 combined) they've gone past regulation 13 times in 28 games, thats almost 50% of the games.
There is absolutely nothing better in all of sports than NHL playoff overtime. I'm excited to watch. Last years playoffs had only 1 series go to a game 7, so hopefully this year is a little more suspenseful, with a few game 7 OT's.
For a second, I thought this was going to be a link to a credible source saying the league was going to do away with the shootout and play til there is a winner. I guess I played an April Fool's joke on myself.
I nearly died in that 2OT game against the Sabres. Especially when they hit the post. I was so scared I wanted to turn my TV off. That game was huge. If you lose youre down 0-3. Win and youre right in it.
OT Playoff games are what make the playoffs in hockey awesome. So much intensity.
