Uh I'm pretty sure no banners will go up even if we win the East. Only cup banners belong in the rafters when you've got 24 of 'em. The Northeast Div. champs banner will be housed in some other part of the Bell Centre. We're not the Atlanta Thrashers or something. We don't need to proudly display such minor forms of success because simply put, we don't have to!

Well well...

The Habs clinched their playoff spot by steamrolling the Sens. They clinch their division title and earn their 100-point season by whitewashing them. This is very fitting.

You think the Habs still have a complex against Ottawa? It was nowhere in evidence. Did they look intimidated to anyone?

Was there a single Hab who did not have an excellent game?

Special mention to Kovalev (now sure of a PPG season), Price (who made the key saves, and all the other saves, too), the Latendresse-Lapierre-Dandenault line (made something happen every shift), and the special teamers (2-6 vs. 0-8), and Sergei Kostitsyn (whose standing up to Chris Neil sent an important message).

Finally Montreal shuts down the Sens' Big Three. And the other Sens, while they are at it.

What. A. Game.

(On another note, I promised to be very scared of all playoff games. Montreal is 2-0 in games I genuinely dread, both key wins including one blowout and one shutout.)

Do we keep Dandy in the lineup now? He's been trying to make a statement and has been so far.

2 losses in 17 games still put them on pace for 9 and we all know the Habs lost just 8. Since that 15-2 start where they looked like the 76-77 Habs, they've looked more like the 91-92 Habs (sucking after a great start) or the 83-84 Habs (below expectations). But none of those come close to their collapse. It's one of the worst collapses by a cup contender team I think we've ever witnessed.

Why not?

He's scoring a goal a game and deserves to be in and the last two games are suddenly a lot less meaningful anyways.

Oh yeah, BTW...

This ensures that the longest losing streak by the Habs all seasons will have been three games.

Amazing. Montreal has been a 100-point team from game one. Amazing consistency for a young team.

Yeah, we dont need those puny banners since our ceiling is cluttered with 24 Cup win banners...

(24 Cup wins, Bruins fans, count em: 24!)
