OT - fire in plateau right now
I've been staring out my window at huge clouds of black/grey smoke for the past 20 minutes.
I think the building is somewhere around st. urbain and des pins, maybe further northeast by a bit.
Anyone have a clue what it is?

yeah i saw it too. st urbain + pins is about right. i didn't go all the way up to it but there's tons of black smoke in the air. this is the third fire in the area in a short while. a building burned down a week ago on st famille, and there was apparently another one the same day. i wonder if there's someone going around setting fires?

well, i solved it myself (well, a friend walked there). It was an appartment bloc on st urbain and the top floor was on fire. I still see a ton of smoke, but its whiter now, so i think the fire is out.

not entirely sure, but i just got a place at deboullion and prince arthur with 4 bedrooms for $2000. I would assume a bachelor's would go for around $600 a month.

okay - basically what i thought, although it seems its still going. The smoke got darker again too.
The article is definitely wrong about the location though - its at st urbain and pins, not parc (I live on parc less than a block away from des pins).
As i am posting this i hear more fire trucks.

The Plateau was a nice area from what I saw while there. I stayed at one of the places for a couple weeks with a friend down on St. Urbain.

I'm at McGill university right now. I saw it, it's like 2 minutes away. At least there are 2 hospitals right next to the building.
