- JDD start. Depending on his play, a short leash since I wanna..
- Knock Vancouver out.
- Call up Schremp. Give him 1 game, minutes, and linemates that aren't the Kids or the 4th line. (Unless it's the PP, then he takes Hemsky's spot on the 1st unit. Better to have him on the RW halfboards with Gagner playing downlow on the left).
Mathematically, the Oil could still finish as low as 6 in the draft. I suggest this game still has significance on the "screw burke" agenda.
All of Chicago, Florida, Toronto, Phoenix, and Columbus can still pass us in the overall standings if we lose in regulation and those teams win out ( I know ... not very likely, but still ...).
Only Chicago can pass us if we lose in OT or win in regulation leaving us at spot #10 which makes me quite happy considering my expectations 90 days ago.
best we can do is finish in the 13 spot, however that assumes that Vancouver and Buffalo will lose out.
We must take the last game VERY seriously. We MUST end Vancouver's season so nothing should be taken lightly. We should compete as if it is game 7 of the finals.

I'd love to, but at what point is your roster so injury decimated that you just don't have the horses?
We don't have our no.1 goalie, our no.1 scorer, our no.2 scorer, our second or third hottest forward (Brodz), our highest paid D-Man, our captain, and another one of our top 9 forwards is also out. On top of Pitkanen who is very likely playing injured.
If Vancouver cannot win that game on their own home ice, quite frankly not only do they not deserve to be in the playoffs, they deserve to be bag skated until every single one of them pukes onto the ice.

Yesterday we were battling for a playoff spot now we are too decimated?

Losing Hemsky and Brodziak is a bit much, don't you think? Also Roloson's middle-of-the-road goaltending doesn't really help, we need Garon back and we needed him back a couple of games ago.
If Vancouver cannot win on home ice against what is essentially the "Kid Line" vs. their veterans, as mentioned above Vingeault shouldn't even let them go home from the arena.
Lock the doors and skate them until their puke. That would be just completely gutless on their part.
Think about it -- if the situation were reversed and the Oilers needed to beat the Canucks at Rexall in a playoff race and the Canucks were without both Luongo, Henrik Sedin, Naslund, Ohlund, Kesler, Pyatt, etc. wouldn't you be the least bit upset if you lost?
Alright, Falcon game is over, Schremp should be getting the call any moment now.
Right...?
Right..?
...
Wrong, according to the game preview on the oilers site we're going with 11 forwards and 12 dmen. Meaning Sanderson and Roy in are the only changes we're seeing. It'll be interesting to see if any of the dmen get a shift as a forward or not.
As for the PPV comment, also according to the preview the game is on Sportsnet for us and PPV for the fans in Vancouver.
