Brian Burke as GM of the Hawks?

I think it would be a good fit. He turned around Vancouver and made them a highly competitive club. I always got the impression that Mike Smith was sort of an un-enthused type of guy, where is Burke is a bit tougher. THats something you want filter down your organization, IMHO. I wonder if there is any chance of him getting hired in some capacity in the Hawks org.

The problem would be that Wirtz is still holding the purse strings. Whoever comes in will be restrained by his "spending" money. He isn't willing to, so the GM will have his hands tied.

Personally, I would love someone from outside of the Organ-I-zation to come in.

Absolutely, Savvy!
There is now way that Burke comes to Chi-town to be a part of the Wirtz Pully Circus!

top GM candidates

1. Brian Burke - worked with a restricted budget in vancouver
2. Dean Lombardi - has a relationship with Pullford, and made the San Jose Sharks.

Nough Said,
except, no TALLON.

As a Canuck fan, I liked Burke and thought he could turn any team around. The only thing to watch if he becomes GM is his horrible drafting process. He takes a lot of players that have attitude problems.
