Just one "m" but yeah, no kidding. He did a couple of games when we had everyone out and he was memorable in a GOOD way.

As for anthems, I just like for it to be on key, the proper pace, non-grandstanding, and without too many notes. Is that too much to ask?

At first I felt sorry for the guy. Yes he was stupid to speak up but it sounded like his so called friends kept bugging him about it and he said something stupid.

If he has any friends they really need to tell him to just shut up. Once you are in a hole quit digging. Not to mention how silly to mess up a paid singing gig when there are only about 10,000 others in a block of the arena who will do it and just as good.

Eh, I think we needed a new one, anyway. He was just alright.

Speaking of music, I wish they had a bit less of Small Time Rock Stars. They are great studio musicians but it would be nice to see a bit more variety.

It's one thing to criticize DKM, quite another to be critical of STRS; THAT is like yelling during the anthem while you leave your bla'awks hat on!

In seriousness, I remember the days when we had "more variety".... all I can say is variety is nice, quality is still key - and more variety did not mean anywhere close to equal quality.

This applies to the anthem singers as well, btw. Me and my wife liked hearing DKM sing the anthem and O Canada. Yeah, he changed a few things over the years, but he didn't butcher it like some do. He was pretty consistently good. All that said, he should've kept his mouth shut.

I have no personal experience in other arenas but given the press I've seen the Bridgestone NHL experience is one of the best in the league. I would expect the house band is part of that.

key words: The band

I wish we would have more variety. I love it when they bring newly signed artists in as a spotlight rather than Small Time Rockstars. I don't mind STR as a fill in when they can't get anyone one else, but I get tired of the same old same old.

Now the Tennessean feels sorry for him. This is partly on them.

C'mon, Smashville, let's ease up on ex-Predators anthem singer

Maybe the story is in the lead. "ex-Predators" so the deed is done?

Would have been so simple to have said "yeah, it's been kind of disappointing to not have a chance to perform on the NHLs biggest stage, but it's great to see the way our local music stars have embraced the Preds. I'll be ready when they need me." You express your frustration but recognize your small fry status. Instead, he went "whine mode" when the national spotlight was on the Preds and lost a great gig.

Yes, this is on them, they slant a story and then complain.....

I'm with adzy, just stay on the key/tune, let us sing along and don't rewrite the song for an audition.. this is the star spangled banner. Sing that song

Hopefully whoever he gets replaced with is at least as efficient of an anthem singer as he is/was.

not just that but its a GOOD offseason when we have the luxury of talking about something this trivial...

The part I find genuinely funny - and totally what you expect from the Tennessean - is the Pred who has gotten the most local off-season coverage is?????

Nope, not PKS, who is clearly our biggest personality. Not even our un-signed captain, who happens to be married to a pretty prominent country star, too. Nope, its......... The former anthem singer they helped get fired! :-)

That is what I meant. I am not dogging them as they are very good musicians and the singer is good.

But, this is Nashville and it seems like we could have just a big more variety. I discovered a great Cajun band there years ago, L'Angelus.

And, this year I know many might have hated them, but I thought a local band The Weeks was actually very good. The lead singer has a great rock voice, despite having a very goofy stage presence.

But, eh....not a biggie.
