Ahh....Spencer Machacek & A. Kulda the two players Jet Management miss used and let get away. Ridding out of town on a white horse into the sunset down the Yellowhead trail ( 1 horse/ 2 guys).

We would probably have our first play off win if only we would have given these 2 players proper opportunities.........(Sarcasm)

Here's a lineup from Ezra from Illegal Curve:

Ehlers-Scheifele-Wheeler
Connor-Little-Laine
Perreault-Lowry-Armia
Matthias-Copp-Dano
Tanev,Petan

Morrissey-Trouba
Kulikov-Byfuglien
Enstrom-Myers
Chiarot

Mason
Hellebuyck

He goes in depth with his explanations for his picks too, good read.
I'd swap Laine with either Wheeler or Ehlers but otherwise I like it. Scheif-Laine duo was just too good last season

What I'd do:

Ehlers-Scheif-Wheels
Perreault-Little-Laine
Connor-Copp-Armia
Matthias-Lowry-Dano

Three best players (considering overall game) on the top line.

Three "second best" players on the second line. Laine may someday soon be better than Wheels, but he ain't yet. Perreault can get the puck, and feed it to Laine.

3rd line is composed of guys who all look to have offensive upside, and could click together. They're given a clear mandate to score goals. If Copp isn't working out, can give Petan or Roslovic a shot as the season progresses. Similarly, I could see Armia and Dano fighting for that 3rd line RW role.

Morrissey-Trouba
Kulikov-Byfuglien
Enstrom-Myers
Chiarot

Swap Kulikov and Enstrom depending on who plays better.

Mason
Hellebuyck

I think Maurice does the same as above for the starting roster, except swaps Copp <-> Lowry

Even more than that, I liked Ehlers/Laine together with either Scheif or Little.

This is probably pretty close. Part of me thinks Maurice might go back to Matthias - Lowry - Armia though.

Man I hope that Laine Schief Ehlers gets back together. I want to see the NHL leader stats comprised of Jets again.

Mark my words you'll all be asking why our third line wasn't upgraded. The only hope is that Connor has a great year and carries the line. Copp/Dano/Lowry/Armia should be fourth line. I'd be okay with one on the third with an upgraded piece for the other spot. That line has a chance to have three mediocre players on it and we will regret it.

You'd think, but I don't think he'll be playing Connor/Perreault on the 4th line just to keep that line together.

All of Copp, Dano and Armia are better than 4th line players, and Lowry isn't your typical fourth Line plug. Don't think we'll be regretting not upgrading the third line. It's gonna be an upgrade from last year with Connor/Perreault on it.

I think you could have a Matthias/Lowry/Armia line and a Connor/Copp/Perreault line that are used more evenly. Swap one of Petan or Roslo in for Copp just to see what sticks and you could have an extra scoring line alongside a pretty good shut down line.

This looks good to me! Only possible change might be Roslovic making 3C out of camp. Then we should look at trading Lowry and Petan somewhere down the road

In no order...

Ehlers-Little-Wheeler
Connor-Scheif-Laine
Perreault-Copp-Armia
Matthias-Lowry-Dano
Petan/Tanev

Morrissey Buff
Kuli Trouba
Enstrom Myers
Chiarot

Mason Helle

Chevy keeps the PB under 3m most nights.

If it's me I move both Perreault and Little to Montreal and the Rangers respectively. Petan has doug Gilmour type ability and should get a real chance to be a second line centre . They also have depth on the left side now. Cost effective moves as they will not be able to sign either of these players when they reach free agency.

Last year proved that we have nobody to replace Little.

The lines I expect Maurice to start with. Connor is the only rookie out of TC.
Ehlers Scheif Laine
MP Little Wheeler
Connor Lowry Armia
Matthias Copp Dano
Tanev Petan

Morrissey Trouba
Kuli Buff
Enstrom Myers
Chiarot

Mason/Helle

Did I forget anyone?

Connor scheif laine could have some serious potential but the cautious side of me wants to see Connor play with the two responsible vets little and wheeler who coincidentally are good defensively as well.

I imagine we will see some shuffling at the beginning but I hope we end up with

Laine scheif ehlers
Connor little wheeler.

That could be top 5 in the league if they were allowed to remain together and gain some chemistry.

I love our talent and they did at least "address" the goaltending and depth defenseman holes, but I'm concerned they lack that sandpaper guy other teams hate to play against.
Sorta hope Brendan Lemieux makes the team since he's really the only player in our system who fits the bill.

Lowry can do that. All Lemieux does is take penalties.

I hope sooner than later we can do better than Lowry in that capacity. He doesn't play with enough edge imho.

our penalties taken show we already play with too much edge

Our abundance of penalties taken reflects coaching more than playing with too much "edge".

which is why I'm expecting to see

Ehlers Scheif Wheeler

Perreault Little Laine

Matthias Lowry Armia

Connor Copp Dano/Lemieux.

Maurice really loved his Matthias-Lowry-Armia line last season.
