WOW....

https://www.theguardian.com/football...ta-real-madrid

Chelsea are on the verge of bolstering their attack for their Premier League title defence after agreeing a club record deal worth an initial £58m with Real Madrid to sign the Spain forward Álvaro Morata. Deal could reach 70m with achievable add-ons.

Also...nice....

Conte, whose team arrived in Beijing on Wednesday morning for a three-game tour, signed a new two-year contract on Tuesday which has established him as the best-paid head coach in Chelsea’s history at around £9.6m a season.

How about Neymar to PSG? €222M?! That's how much Real paid for their whole BBC line! Barca is on the decline on the pitch and a total train wreck off it, so I don't blame him for jumping ship. But damn that's an insane amount of oil money lol.

The Barcelona media said yesterday it was almost a done deal. 95% chance according to them.

French media is saying 90% chance, and it's being hinted by the Brazilians playing for PSG.

Barcelona would almost be dumb to NOT sell him at that price.

Now you believe it?

Yes, $220M is a ridiculous transfer price, by far the biggest of all time. Amazing return on investment for Barcelona, they need that cash too.

Neymar might be the player that pushes PSG over the top in the CL. Finally a true superstar after Zlatan.

Isn't there talk that Alexis may go there, too?

Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich had explored the possibility of signing the 28-year-old in recent months*but he wants to be reunited with Pep Guardiola, who coached him for one season at Barcelona.

A little dated....

http://www.goal.com/en/news/1862/pre...-man-city-move

Comes down to Arsenal charging City 75m and PSG only 50m from what I'm reading online. I guess Alexis doesn't get to go where he wanted, but he'll be well paid that's for sure.

Good for Chelsea....happy to see Arsenal lose a big talent.

17:50 UPDATE: Another top PSG fan source, Canal Supporters, “can confirm” the news that Alexis is in Paris and add that he is finalising his contract with their sporting director, Antero Henrique.

Now watch us land both Neymar and Alexis only to lose in the 1st or 2nd round again. Feel like I'm talking about the Caps here...

I've only been following European Soccer Leagues for the last 3-4 years, well really only following the PL, but it seems like PSG is the only good team in the France Ligue 1. Or am I wrong about that?

Anyway, it just seems like the PL, Bundesliga and La Liga have more prestige. Why would someone like Neymar want to go to PSG and what appears to me, an admitted European soccer novice, an inferior soccer league?

That's true, but they can't win **** on the big stage. A guy like Neymar would go to PSG to make a ton of cash, live in one of the world's nicest cities for rich people and to score a ton of goals in the Ligue 1. As for tough competition, he's going to face the same teams he used to play against in the CL.

The Ligue 1 is a weaker league but PSG on paper is on par with the top clubs from the PL, Bundesliga, La Liga or Serie A.

He isn't the first superstar to play for PSG. We had Ronaldinho 15 years ago and he was better than Neymar is today.

Well Monaco was awesome last year. But it's PSG and everyone else picking up the crumbs usually.

So he would go to PSG for the money but also CL competition. I would of thought league competition level would trump something like CL access and prestige. Then again Neymar is only 25. PSG wouldn't be his final destination would it? Make some coin, get the Paris experience, compete for a CL title then move on to somewhere else. Makes sense.

Thanks for the response.

It's gotta be largely about his desire to be "the man" and getting out of Messi's shadow....he's probably got a good 10 years left, so you're right, it wouldn't be his final destination. Some Brazilians seem to have a tendency to go home and wind down their careers there. Not sure he's got any desire to go play against tough D's in he PL....MAYBE in 5 years? Would like to see him there someday just for the entertainment value.

For the kind of money PSG would be paying to get him from Barcelona and the money he's been rumoured to get on his future contract with PSG... He better stay there a while for the move to make sense. Of course he won't end his career in Paris. I could see him return to Spain or give it a shot in one of the other big European leagues.

Apparently they're working on a 5-6 year deal. Doesn't mean PSG won't sell him 4 years from now if they do get him, but him wanting to step out of Messi's shadow is bang on. He'll never get the attention that he deserves in Barcelona, not as long as Messi runs the show.

Suarez on the other hand seems to enjoy being Messi's 2nd or 3rd.

It could be said Messi acts like a defacto muzzle for Suarez.
