:

1. a LD that can play PK and take defensive matchups. Krug being the 2nd pairing D behind Chara means we have a 40 year old getting all the tough assignments.

2. A LW for Krejci. For some reason, people think he is decline when he had his highest goal output ever last year. Perhaps if he didn't have a bunch of 4th liners on his LW all season he would hit his normal mid-60s in points.

3. Backup goalie. Rask doesn't have it in him to play 65 games a year.

Thankfully, the teams prospect pool is most full at LW and LD, so perhaps these issues work themselves out.

1LD specifically for us but I think our D as a whole is still a hole. I'm optimistic it will work well but we will be relying a decent amount on a sophmore and a rookie this year

Change Seabrook for Faulk and add a Kesler type of player. Funny thing is that this could happen in real life is both Kesler and Faulk would be free agents and sign their current deals with Hawks. Of course Seabrook would walk away as UFA too.

Of course a steady top-4 Dman would be big addition too but I like potential of that D corps.

Saad - Toews - Panik
DeBrincat - Kesler - Kane
Sharp - Anisimov - Schmaltz
Hartman - Dauphin - Wingels
Hayden

Keith - Murphy
Forsling - Faulk
Kempny - Rutta

Corey
Forsberg

True. Closest thing is Pens, their only holes are #3 center and #6 dman

Sharks
-speed
-better depth defensively
-scoring wingers
-(IMO)grit...more hitting.

Now we have an issue with Thornton on his way out and having a player of his caliber come in.

Minnesota:
1) 3 C and 4 C. Will Ek deal ready with such an important mission as 3 C?
2) 3 pair

That's why I try and separate need and want. I'd want an Erik Karlsson, Drew Doughty etc on the Islanders but Nick Leddy is damn good, so is Boychuk and de Haan. And it's a deep D corps. Actual problem are the centers between Tavares and Cizikas.

Murphy was a 3RHD last year in AZ. i think you will be disappointed with him as a 1RHD.

Maybe next year but he is still developing and someday could be as good as Hammer. Could.

Murphy regressed a little 2 years ago and regressed more last year. Schenn was playing 1RHD, Stone was 2RHD until he was traded and then anthony DeAngelo was 2RHD. Murphy was third pairing, pretty big disappointment. Murphy had every opportunity, just didn't improve. I don't see him ever becoming a 1RHD, it's just highly unlikely at this point. if he had 1RHD potential, there is no way the Coyotes would have traded him.

Uh, what? You don't just get to do that. You certainly don't get to do that in projecting next year's lineup for the purposes of evaluating strengths and weaknesses of your roster. Are you thinking of Justin Falk? I'm sure he's available. But Justin Faulk isn't.

Nashville: Top-6 center
New Jersey: More high-end talent
NYI: Middle-6 center
NYR: Top-6 center

For the Jackets...

Main hole: Another top-6 center. We've got Wennberg and Dubinsky, but nether of them exactly qualify as superstars, and the only insurance after them is "hey, PLD, you're ready to go, right?"

Secondary hole: Playoff Goaltending. Get that fixed and we're in great shape.

Why so rude? Are you happy now cause you got to say what I can do and can't?

XXXX - Thornton - Pavelski
XXXX - Couture - Boedker
Donskoi - Hertl - Hansen
Karlsson - Tierney - Ward

Vlasic - Braun
Martin - Burns
Dillon - XXXX

We need to revamp the defence. Move Martin and Dillon. Find a offensive, puck moving LHD. Find a two way RHD. Hopefully Meier can grab a spot in the top 6.

My ideal acquisitions would be Tatar, Palat, Ekholm, and Faulk. I know that's not exactly in line with what I said above, but I'd love it.

Tatar - Thornton - Pavelski
Palat - Couture - Boedker
Donskoi - Hertl - Hansen
Karlsson - Tierney - Ward

Vlasic - Faulk
Ekholm - Burns
Martin - Braun

Rangers had the 4th best offense in the NHL last season. Their PP and defense were horrible. Hank is still amazing. Getting Rid of girardi and getting shatty should help. If we get rid of staal before the end of preseason Rangers are going to dominate. Wont happen and our horrible coach will Play him 22 minutes a game.

1. Goaltending
2. Even Strength Scoring
3. Very young defense
4. Coaching (fixing this one might help #2)

#1 Center - love Z, but he's 37 years old and has been carrying the team on his back for a while now.

#1 defenseman
#2 defenseman- I probably could include 3 and 4 but am being optimistic.

Goaltending - Mrazek needs to get it together or Howard needs to stay healthy. Otherwise there's serious problems in net.

Coach - nearly every player regressed under Blashill. PP should've been better than 27th in the league.

GM - seems like non of these holes will be filled any time soon. Plenty of secondary talent on crippling contracts though!

What is your greatest area of concern about your team?

To be completely honest, with the Flames, I would say it's goaltending.

This was a significant problem last year with the Elliot and Johnson tandem, although at the start of the year I thought we were going to be great in the net. Boy, was I ever wrong.... so here again, goaltending is a huge question mark in my mind.

Mike Smith: Which Smith will we see in 2017-2018? Will it be the Smith of 2011-2012 who had a 0.930 Sv% and a 2.21 GAA with Phoenix or will it be the Smith who had a 0.914 Sv% and a 2.92 GAA last year? Smith's excuse was that he played for a team with a ****** defense. Valid excuse? Will playing behind Calgary's defense bring back the 2011-2012 Mike Smith?

Eddie Lack: Which Eddie will we see in 2017-2018? Will it be the Eddie of 2014-2015 with Vancouver who had a 0.921 Sv% and a 2.45 GAA or will it be the Eddie of last year who had a 0.902 Sv% and a 2.64 GAA. Eddie's excuse was that they changed his style in Carolina and he was never comfortable with it. Valid excuse? Will playing under the new/old coach Glen Gulutzan bring Eddie back to his play of his glory days in Vancouver?

Anyways, I'm pretty sure that everyone's team has at least one area (and in a lot of cases, more than one) that is probably of concern. I'd like to hear your honest thoughts on your team.
