I'd time travel and ship Amonte, Leetch and Richter for Karlsson.

No? Throw in the Ferraro twins.

I think this might work if McDonagh is added. That offer isn't close right now.

0% chance I would give up a 60 point scorer, a near 30 goal scorer, a hopeful top 6 winger, & a better defensive dman in McD. Karlsson is good but he is not McDavid or Ray Bourque. We will give them half of that and they will thank us after Karlsson says he wants to play with his buddies lol

The NHL doesn't make any trades. The expansion draft was supposed to see a major distribution of talent. Didn't happen. The draft and July 1 was supposed to see many trades go down. Not much happened. A few big trades which mostly involved trading for draft picks. Pierre Lebrun thought we would see crazy player movement. Not really. You don't see the big multi-player blockbuster anymore.

Gorton will sign Zibanejad in the next 8-9 days. Gorton has already signed all of the first round picks. He is sitting in his office in Greenburgh looking for something to do.
Several players have bonuses payable on July 15th (see Derrick Brassard).

There may be 1-2 salary related trades announced tomorrow.

Also not just bonuses in play. Some players have salary paid in various increments throu the year. It helps the player and can be a negotiation tool.

That just your own speculation or things you've heard from your sources?

That is crazy. I remember right as the Brass deal was announced I was picking up my bike from the shop..

Now tomorrow, a year later on that Monday, I will be bringing my bike to the shop again. Flat tire. It lasted pretty much a year exactly. It'll be fixed by Tuesday. July 18th to July 18th. Spooky.

First time I played with them was just at puck shoots in Kings Park. Then we played some rec league together. Then in a weird situation I think we all played a game in Freeport for a high school one night that I did not even go to and I do not think they went to either. I can not remember for sure if they played that night. Then later on I played with them in games where I think their older brother rented out the Dix Hills rink since he collected the money.

I mentioned Brass to OTT last year, heard about it to, but thought it was Turris.

Was on the money with the contract however.

Same with Shatts money structure.

Rangers can get creative with this stuff. Other orgs like having to pay less than the actual hit.

Still though, these deals are how small and big market teams help each other.

Right now the gap between stronger and weaker teams is very high when it comes to their revenue.

Some small market teams cannot afford to have low attendance this season without some severe financial strife.

NJ and COL are at the top of the list currently.

CAR just got sold so they will be fine for a bit... But need to make the playoffs.

I'm looking at FLA as a team that's ready to shoot itself on the foot.

They made a huge mistake with their turnover last off season letting the corsi boys ruin a homebred 100 point team that worked hard every night. They were on the right track.

Now they're depth depleted and don't have the farm to back it up.

If there is a team ripe for fleecing, its them.

They made a huge mistake by hiring an analytics department which 29 teams have?

I was one of Brass' biggest fans and really was sad to see him go, but 1 year later, I truly feel this was the right move. We used the 2nd rounder to get Brendan Smith so if you look at it, we basically traded Brassard and a 3rd for Zibanejad and Smith.

I'd do that trade every day of the week

Brassard was my favorite player but I can appreciate that it was a good hockey trade.

And at least Mika is very likable also.

Yes, it was great for us as a team. We get a younger player with similar numbers and a 2nd rounder (Which we all know was basically given for us to pay his signing bonus for 2016).

The Stepan-trade is a bit different but with DeAngelo and the 7OA pick, it is a good return for a guy with his career numbers and cap-hit. DeAngelo is possibly the most valuable NHL-ready prospect we could have gotten. I don't feel Raanta had much value as a backup with 1 year left on his deal so to me it's just Stepan for those 2 assets.

The last 2 summers, we have seen a completely different style in managing the team. Gorton is doing a good job. He got 2 picks for the rights to Yandle, got Kampfer and a 7th for McIlrath (who cleared waivers twice before being traded), got Holden for a 4th.

I am really happy with his trade-history and will forgive him for the Staal-trade because I still feel Staal not being good for us doesn't mean it was a bad trade. He is showing in Minnesota he still has a ton of skill and hockey left in him.

Oh, and when it comes to free agency, Gorton has really done a superb job. Smith, Shattenkirk, Grabner, Vesey and now the youngsters Pionk, Lettieri, Bereglazov and Pedrie... Slowly restoring the prospect pool

Zuccarello played with Brassard or Stepan. Both of them have been traded. Zibanejad? The Rangers should put Buchnevich with Mika. They need to get Buchnevich established an an NHL player. He is a very important player for them. Zuccarello has also played with Kreider but they also have the KZB line. Same thing with Nash. Stepan and Brassard.

What? Huberdeau, Barkov, Ekblad and Bjugstad can't stay healthy and it's the GMs fault? Ekblad and Bjugstads massive regression is far more to blame than signing Yandle and Demers.

And what has Tallon done that's so great? Trade Reilly Smith in exchange for VGK picking a 30 goal scorer in JAM?

Of course they're ripe for fleecing, there's an idiot in charge.

Love how people blame Florida's struggles last year on the "corsi boys". And then go on to say "they're ripe for the fleecing" after the "corsi boys" gave back power to Tallon.

Hello cake, I'm going to eat you.

Yeah that's what I'll never understand. So many obvious issues due to injuries, but people will just point at the Yandle contract and blame the computer boys.

If Tallon wants to do Staal for Bjugstad then be my guest.
