VA and MD in States of Emergency - seems a bit ironic with OPM open today (delayed 3 hours) since MD/VA is where most of their employees live. And ~ 3 hours later, the storm will be at its heaviest.

Its always mind boggling to see live TV reporters standing on snowy roads as cars drive right by them. You see them rubber necking to see if they are about to get hit.

Getting tired of Nick Faldo openly mumbling into the microphone as he clearly supports the international players in these American PGA Tour events.

It's been obvious for an hour that a Euro was likely to win. I'm ok with it this time. Rose and Garcia are on my "wouldn't mind seeing them win a Green jacket" list....it's overdue. Part of me still hopes they come back to the field. Mass Playoff at -5.

I don't have a problem with either of them winning. Just tired of Faldo's secret-not-secret cheerleading.

Lots of unfamiliar names posting last night/this morning.

I guess they're drawn by the drama & trauma.

Coming out of the woodwork for support.

We totally need a Therapy Thread. Needed. Its too late. Next year, I will start one with a minute left vs Pitt at home game 7. It will happen, round 2 with the conferences 2 top teams - our trash can. Book it.

Here's your consolation prize
Wegmans expanding to Washington, D.C.

Sounds like we need a new banner.

Finally new car time. Time for my 2005 WRX wagon to be retired. Put a deposit on a 2018 STI limited.

Q for the Beltway locals (from DC to Baltimore):

Since when the name of 80's pop group Baltimora became the local slang for "getting shot"? I even saw such claim on the YouTube comments section.

FYI...

Just letting all my friends know that Audible.com has horrible customer service and they engage in unscrupulous business practices.

Someone I know had an account that they did not need but kept active in order to "gift" audio books to others. This consisted of a legitimate "give as gift" link through the Audible website. This is a great and generous way to enrich others. It isn't stealing and it isn't hurting anyone. Someone is still paying for the books no matter who uses them, and as far as I know only one person can redeem the code. It's similar to giving someone an electronic gift card. Everyone wins, right?

Well in late April, Audible suddenly and without warning removed this feature while my "friend" still had 12 unused credits he had stockpiled (and would lose soon if not redeemed since they do not let you accumulate more than that).

Long story short, Audible customer service pretended to respond actively but essentially did nothing beyond reply with auto-generated "nothing we can do" emails that contained keyword-based instructions for FAQ questions like accessing your Library. They would not allow escalation to a supervisor unless you went through the same stonewalling process by phone, and who the hell needs that in 2017 when the whole idea is online digital convenience?

The bottom line is my friend had to use what credits he could on books he didn't want, and then cancelled the account with some credits unused. Who wins here? Nobody. Nice job, Audible. Way to shoot yourselves in the foot.

Beware and share if you care.

Seems like the situation is under control now and the shooter is in custody. A few people including the congressman from Louisiana were shot from initial reports but no fatalities.

General note for anyone checking threads that you may notice some glitches or service interruptions here and there. This is most likely due to some prep work being done by admins in advance of some site changes that are TBD.

That's all we have for now. Thanks.

Hey guys, first time on here in about four months. I somehow managed to lose my wife and job all in one weekend.

The good new though, all the mess going on in my personal life, made it to where I didn't have enough time to pay attention to the Caps annual early exit in the playoffs!

Hope you're doing better bud. I lost my internship a month ago and at the same time, my longtime friend (who I've had a crush on for the past few months) has suddenly started avoiding me and I have no idea what I did to upset her.

I since found another internship and managed to forget about that girl. It's not like losing your wife and job but still I can relate.
Better times ahead for both of us my friend
