Went with Vili by a nose over Cholo out of respect for his post draft development and upside. As I said before though, I see Cholo as the much safer bet to make the NHL.

Can I ask what you don't like about Cholowski? His two biggest strengths are skating and passing. I mean, those are good strengths to have in a defenseman. Not sure about his shot, but I think he could potentially be a high minute/high assist guy.

I think both players have middle pairing upside, I think Cholo had a really disappointing +1 year compared to Vili's +1 year, who is also further along in his development. Honestly, I'm not sure if Cholo will be more than a bottom pairing defenseman. This year is massive for his development.

I think Cholowski has a better chance of being a 2nd pairing Dman than Saarijarvi so I went with him.

Add is still Turgeon

Voted Cholowski. Still think he has the biggest potential. Don't know much about Lindstrom but hope he is another Hronek like pick up in round 2.

I think he has a lot to prove, and agree that Vili has been a more productive prospect up until this point.

But I don't really look at Cholowski and see anything that limits him to being a bottom pairing guy. Maybe his shot is something that needs some improvement. But I think his skating won't limit him, once he gains weight his size shouldn't limit him, and he sees the ice and passes well. I guess I don't see from a tools perspective what he doesn't have that you could draw that conclusion from.

He just was probably outmatched physically a little bit being a late bloomer playing D1 hockey against a lot of 21, 22, 23 year olds. I think he could do very well in the WHL. We will see what happens.

Like, yeah he has the potential and tools, but he has to be able to develop those tools adequately at an NHL level. To prove he's a middle pairing guy, he has to be able to demonstrate it at the WHL this season against his peers.

Yeah I don't think I'm gonna vote here. A number 3dman is the same value as a guy who could go ppg in the playoffs for me

This year will be telling for him.

If he has any less than 40 points this year(barring injuries), then Detroit is looking at either a decent bottom pairing dman, or a bust.

You summed it up rather well. I picked Gustav Lindstrom.
