Your career can end in a split second. Take the money, dumbass.

If he doesn't want to be here long term then trade him asap

Yep. Should have traded him.

Part of me wants to see him blow out a knee. 72m isnt good enough? Ok, how about a fraction of that, you effing clown.

Typical Redskins Drama.

Look for a lot of self preservation this year... a guy year to year would be dumb not to, right? I foresee a lot of balls chucked into the stands at the first sign of trouble.

Regardless of Skins offer, no counter from Cousins since early May? Not one? And all the while he is professing his love for DC and us fans? That's Griffin level media mind game ********.

That ******** turned me off of as a fan of Griffin and it's having the same affect with me in regards to Cousins. Not looking forward to this season with much enthusiasm considering the team is lead by a two faced ****.

I would put Cousins and Flacco on the same level, with a slight edge to Flacco. But Flacco puts Cousins to shame? I don't see it.

I'm not a Redskins fan - so from someone from the outside if I was cousins I wouldn't sign long term in DC either. Ownership and the organization is in the bottom tier of the NFL. Why not go year-to-year?

He has regardless made 50 million in guarantees in his career already. He can risk year to year. He's going to be fine regardless. I respect his morals.

Honestly, I bet this is how he keeps the Redskins in check and makes them get him help/get a good defense/improve front office. IF he continues to play at a elite level on one year deals constantly - it puts all the pressure on the team to do well. What if Kirk has a amazing season this year and says "I need help to win a Super Bowl". Guess who has all the pressure then? The Skins...

If you're Kirk and signed long-term - Redskins have all the power for a long time. One year deals being a very good QB actually gives the player SOME power in these scenarios. As a fan - you should be stoked.

Cousins hasn't left.... he's still open to things after the year.... but IMO he's being smart. I respect it so much. He's been treated like **** by a lot of the Skins front office over his career here and now he's finally in a position of power.... Might as well keep that power going - especially after the circus this off-season.

This is a GOOD thing if your a Skins fan IMO. You should LOVE this. Kirk is basically saying I'm not signing long-term, I'm a QB that you haven't had in a long time and Skins don't want to lose, and you better do the right things around me to stay or I can leave after any year.

It's awesome. Look how mad Skins are now. Cousins turned them down and now they're salty and made and going to the media acting like babies. Cousins meanwhile is the starting QB, guaranteed like 25 mil this year, and if he does awesome he knows this formula works and has the organization on their knees in the future. Maybe this is exactly what the Skins front office needs.

Based on his leverage Cousins is worth as much, or more, than Carr and Luck. Two QBs who have won nothing. And Rodgers signed his current deal in 2013, 4 years ago, so comparing a potential Cousins contract to his makes no sense, but when Rodgers is ready for a new contract he will be worth more than Cousins, Carr, Luck, Stafford, Ryan and any other top 15 QB who hasn't won anything. Players and Agents negotiate off of a contract signed by a comparable player with in the last year or sooner, not off a contract from a comparable player negotiated 4 years ago. Thats how NFL contracts work. Not complicated.

the Niners, under their new ownership regime which forced out Harbaugh, then fired the GM who forced him out (smart timing, aren't exactly a beacon of stability these days. Neither are the Rams and their "winning ways".

Smacks more of Kirk wanting to run to his comfort zones w talk of McVay or Baby Mike as being likely destinations.

I personally think Kirk is a little soft in the head....he's kind of a baby. So he's being a bit of a *****. His feelings got hurt so he's spiteful.

So meh. Will his departure hurt the team and set them back immediately? Probably will, yes (like 90% it will). But will his departure cost the franchise a Super Bowl win? Probably not, no (like 95% it,will not).

So I'm meh. Idiot leadership is letting the idiot star QB leave for next to nothing. Par for the course.
