That would be unreal!!!

I went to an Arsenal Portsymth game in England, and they had like four or 5 different chants for the team....you would need a whole group of people starting it, plus phamplets handed out, maybe even talk to someone in Marketing the team, and they may like the idea and somehow help you with the cause

Someone work on this it would crazy

I'm going to disagree. It does piss them off, and it really pisses off other team's fans.

Especially when you do it in their own arena..

I didn't say it doesn't piss them off, I said it doesn't piss them off enough.

Fair enough..

I just don't want some complicating chant, because then when I've been drinking I won't be able to chant it properly. I can slur out Ole Ole half decently!

I think the idea of creating original fan songs is great, and I too admire european sport teams for doing so. We habs fans like to think of ourself as hardcore, and compared to other NHL franchises we may very well be, but we are puny and insignificant compare to what the big football clubs fans are capable.

I mean... take a look at what these guys do. Not saying we should bring pyrotechnic stuff in the Bell Center (if only for security reasons within a closed amphitheater), but this should open some eyes about what an organized and motivated fanbase can do.

is even crazier. They actually have teams set up to fight the other teams' fans. What a bunch of nutjobs.

Totally agree man, these fans are nuts, it would be crazy if that was in Montreal...Plus Montreal is probably the only city for hockey where this could be pulled off

That's a bit why I'm suggesting that; medias keep telling european players "wow, you must be excited with the fans being so loud and cheering" and in their head, they must be laughing their *** off knowing how it is back home when they used to go watch a soccer match.

Oh, there are definitively elements of european fandom I wouldn't want us to emulate. But I think they have good stuff we could try to emulate or adapt.

Yeah, I never went to a soccer game in Europe but from what I heard, the feeling is totally different.

Honestly, I think some Euro fans get so worked up on the fandom that they don't even enjoy the game anymore. I prefer fans who spontaneously come up with chants, which is pretty much how we've gotten both the "Hey Hey Goodbye" and "Ole" chants, not ones who scheme for hours on plans to make everyone sing something constructed.

Why break something that works so well just for the sake of it?
