I would protect the best 11 players on your roster, regardless of position. Definitely stacked at center and left wing positions, but you could move any one of these players for a premiere defencemen or goaltender.

As for Emery, I think he will rebound from the 2007-2008 season. Vokoun is the safe selection, but Emery has more potential in a keeper league.

Vokoun must be kept ahead of emery, that is a given (and that is comeing from a sens fan. But this look's like the best list of guys to keep, easy choices IMO.

If you can only start 3 centers, one should probably go, in my opinion it's Carter.

The rest of the list plays out like this for me.

Ryan Getzlaf (Anh - C)
Marc Savard (Bos - C)
Eric Staal (Car - C)
Alexander Ovechkin (Was - LW)
Alexander Semin (Was - LW)
Dany Heatley (Ott - LW,RW)
Thomas Vanek (Buf - LW)
Nathan Horton (Fla - C,RW)
Brent Burns (Min - D)
Tomas Vokoun (Fla - G)

That leaves you in a good position on all forward positions with needing to pick up another defenceman.

As you can see, the list is only 10 players, from there what it comes down to for me is...

Milan Michalek or Duncan Keith.

If defence is at that much of a premium maybe you protect Keith... Personally I am not sold on Byfuglien being a consistent contributor.

If you do stick with another defenceman, you could also consider swapping Semin and Michalek as Michalek is able to play both wings... Really depends on what is available, or what you think will be available, in the draft.

It's tough to cut Carter and Hanzal but with the depth in most leagues (and on your team) at center it's not that tough. If you insist on one or the other, drop Penner but he seems like a good bet for 25+ goals along with better eligibility. I say that you should always keep a scorer over a playmaker.

Focus on defense and goaltending in the draft, both need work no matter who you keep.
