Greg Stewart staying with the team...

surprised nobody mentioned this yet (I couldnt find anything about it anyways)

CBC Had another preview show with Scotty Bowman this time and they quickly mentioned in the show that Greg Stewart was staying with the team

IMO he showed a lot of good things and even if he does not play he could gain valuable experience

I haven't heard/read anything about it yet. But if it's true, congrats to the kid.

This is not really surprising; his recall was obviously a depth move for grit when things heat up in playoffs.

Good thing, I expect more call-up this Sunday after the AHL season is over.

Not surprised, he made the absolute most of his chance and deserves to stay up with the big team.

That's very awesome, I saw an interview he did on TSN last night talking about this, and he said that he was pleasantly surprised.

I had a feeling he would. Did Gainey not make some positive comments about him at the press conference the other day without really naming him?

Good stuff.
I expect Boston to be a very physical series and his size, toughness and willingness to fight was an element the team lacked IMO.

Does anyone know if Carbo was fined after Stewart fought McCabe?

That's great for Stewart. He probably won't play, but I get the feeling that Carbo wanted to inject new blood in his team on the short term, just to keep the players on their toes. Having a young, motivated rookie with nothing to lose working hard in training may help lit the fire under some butts. I have the feeling he's just this kind of coach.

well they mentioned he would go back to hamilton to finish the season, but i am not surprised at all if he comes back! he played quite well for his first game. definitly beyond expectations. hard to expect him to play like that regularly, but they will definitly need his grit and strength in the playoffs, and it is nice to have depth!

Well, imo, he's there to wake Lats up, I mean, Lats have to prove that he can play more physical and throw his weight around, winning battles along the boards and play aggressively, something he hasn't done consistently this year. If Latendresse plays soft and don't have any impact into the game, I'd rather have a guy like Stewart dressed to bring energy and grit to pump up the team.

No surprise....the kid played great and added toughness to the lineup. We're gonna need all the toughness we can get against the Boston Goons.....er....I mean Bruins.

I'm pretty sure he's not going back to Hamilton to finish the season, that's what he was expecting to do, but instead he'll be remaining on the Canadiens.

Yeah, he's staying on the Canadiens. Whether or not he'll play much (or at all) is not clear.
