More appreciation for Peter Forsberg from Bob Hartley's article:

"I immediately thought about a similar situation regarding the 7th game of the final against the Devils in 2001. Peter Forberg got a rupture spleen and he has been skating alone for a few days. The morning of the 7th game, Forsberg waited for me in my office at 8:30 and beg me to allow him to return for the final game.

Without delay, I communicated with my general manager, Pierre Lacroix, and the team's doctors. But they refused to allow Forsberg to play. According to the doctors, Forsberg could die on the rink and allow him to play is too risky. We thanks Forsberg for being such a warrior but it's too dangerous to allow him to play."

After reading this, Koivu should return immediately for game 1

Call me crazy but I'm pretty sure Plex + Kostys will be muuuuch better than those 3 Avs. They already come close now, at extremely young ages (21, 23, 25 vs 28, 31, 32) though Drury IS the man in the playoffs

It's been Tanguay, Drury, and Hejduk from seven years ago that Hartley is referring to.

Hi Crazy...
I love the kids but they are not even close to Hejduk, Drury and Tanguay. In a few years will they be as good? I hope so, but to say they will be muuuuuuch better is ridiculous.
Call me back when AK46 wins the Rocket Richard Trophy (Hejduk) or Plex puts up 80 points in an injury shortened season (Tanguay).

Of those 3 Avs the best comparison would be

A.K to Hejduk (scorer)
Plekanec to Drury (excellent 2-way center)
S.K to Tanguay (playmaker)

I think they are fair comparisons on the part of Hartley in terms of potential for the Habs players.. Plekanec tied Drury's career high for points this season (69). Now he just needs to continue to play at a similar level.

Andrei Kostitsyn, well we all know this kid has a very high potential ceiling.. Lets just hope he continues to progress.

Sergei will continue to improve, I don't know if he'll ever peak with numbers as high as Tanguay but he also didn't play with Sakic or Forsberg.. so thats advantage Tanguay.

LidstrORRom wins it easily IMO. Cneely is the runner up for his one man thread.
