I have no problem with people reselling tickets here and there because they can't go to a game. I have a problem when the demand is higher than the supply, causing a lottery, and someone who has no intention of going to 85% of the games ends up winning and wants to jack up the price just to make a profit. It's all part of the "**** you, I got mine" mindset that continues to grow and grow.
Couldn't have said it better.

Even at the most granular level, which would be a professional team of a specific sport, many markets aren't monopolized. Speaking generally, sports in any given market compete both against each other and against other forms of entertainment. There's a heavy amount of competition.

The general issue is that people conflate "face value" with market value. Teams intentionally don't price at that level for many reasons. Obviously, it'd be seen as near criminal if say the Cubs went ahead and charged $1k+ to World Series games. So this limited supply of tickets is priced with considerable arbitrage in many cases. That's why you see people buying to sell or teams selling lots of tickets to brokers with set deals.

How would they know if that person went? They don't ID at the gates ?

It will only be temporary but I liked the small stadium setting

It was nice atmosphere and will be unique for NFL until the new LA stadium is done

sorry voight didn't see this

The Broncos (maybe the whole NFL - not sure) only allow you to electronically send tickets through the NFL ticket exchange. So they know if you transferred them electronically.

You could still print out the tickets and sell them, but I guess the NFL figures people are a little skitz about buying paper tickets from random people nowadays.

The crummy thing about what the Broncos did - this whole NFL ticket exchange has only been in place like 1, maybe 2 years. Fans just assumed normal course of business and the Broncos basically ambushed people who had been selling all of their games and took their rights away with little to no warning whatsoever.

Moral of the story - if you have season tickets, I'd be careful about transferring a bunch of them. The Broncos situation may come to a stadium near you.

It is noteworthy I guess as well to say that the Broncos waitlist is like 70,000 large right now. As someone who is in that 70,000 number, I'm a little glad they are forcing folks to go to the games. There was too much behavior here of fans buying season tickets and selling 95% of the games (albeit at a profit because tickets are so tight here)

This is not the first time it's been out there today, but the NFL already talking about moving the Chargers back to San Diego. They don't want 'bad optics.' Dude, visiting fans regularly overtook Chargers home games in San Diego, especially once the talk of moving to LA ramped up.

They should have moved Raiders who are still #1 team in LA if they wanted two teams in LA

Raiders/Rams was natural choice but for some reason NFL wanted Chargers and not Raiders

Also this gives SD more ammo in any talks with NFL given situation NFL finds itself in

Exactly, and It would be one helluva legal battle that would drag on forever.

Honestly, the crowds will get better when the stadium is done. I've heard that the traffic to get to Carson is insane sometimes so thats not helping things.

Crowds wont improve that much as there are few Charger fans in LA

Its been noted time and again by people in LA that you don't see Charger fans around and lack of support seems to prove that argument correct

Raiders are still top dog in LA and then Rams and outside teams as its a city of transplants to an extent from all over US

Awards:
Carson is a terrible stadium. Been there numerous times for soccer. The parking situation is almost as bad as the Rose Bowl.

But the Chargers still don't have fans here or in SD and nothing will change. That's the part people are really overlooking. The part where it was at least 50% Broncos fans at their home games for years and years. It wasn't only Raiders fans that invaded every year. Steelers fans too, basically any team with a lot of fans.

I don't think the NFL can put a team back in San Diego. It is not realistic.

They wanted a team upper class family oriented white people (but there ain't many of these types here anyway) could take their kids to go watch. A mythical unicorn type of situation. The NFL is trying to leave working class fans behind. That is very clear to see.

Moving 2 teams to a city with a spotty record of supporting an NFL team was ridiculous.

I totally get moving one team there, and trying to win back that massive market, but 2 in the same year? Give me a ****ing break. Everyone knew this was going to be an unmitigated disaster for at least the Chargers.
