"From Howard to Saku the Cup"

Howard McNamara was the first Captain to hoist the Cup in a Canadiens uniform. So yeah, thats why I think that is a good chant, despite the lack of history knowledge of Howard McNamara

That's what I tought too.

I like the ole-ole song. It's easy, you can sing it even if you're drunk, it's atypical so you definitly can hear it on tv even if a few people sing it.

I prefer Ole and our regular chants. I find it sounds too churchish.

Thx...all great feedback peeps! I was going for a good drinking type sing a long thing....something that could have been sung 100 years ago when the team first started. Also, something that was genuinely ours. Everything we use is from something else. Making something cool or hip could date it in a few years.

Anyway, good thing I bounced it off you guys! Thx again for taking the time to listen and respond.

Well, maybe if we HAD been singing that for 100 years, we'd feel differently about it. But we have Halte la!

Yep, not a sports song at all.

It worked for me, it felt like a ceremonial anthem. I think it would fit at the beginning of home games, just before the players jump on the ice. With the crowd standing up, their hand on their heart, slowly, proudly singing that song.

Then the players come out and L'oreille's song kicks in: na na na nana nana nananaaaaaa... OOH OOH OOH OOOOOOOHHHH

They haven't finish the mix but they gave a 30 seconds demo to J-C in CKAC. I don't like Loco Locas but this song is awesome. I'm singning it since yesterday and it pump me.

Allez Montréal was the title. I think we can listen to the demo today on CKAC because during the weekend they pass some of the week's best moments.
Here it is

I'd be up for singing that. Habs should use it, maybe have them teach it during a TV timeout in one of our next game.

What's good about it too is it can be used for any Montréal team.

Allez Allez Montreal kind of sounds like that Atlanta Braves song.

It's offensive to indigenous peoples.

And if you don't buy that, then it's way out in Atlanta.

Lets not forget it is a bilingual fanbase that is used to Ole Ole or na na na.

Getting more than a few simple words out is near impossible, or would take years.
