Réseau des Sport's distribution countrywide (2.57 million households) is a mere 20 per cent of CBC Television's 13 million.
However, RDS outdrew the CBC for the Bruins-Canadiens opener on Thursday, 1.48 million viewers, compared with 1.186 million.
The RDS audience was its second largest ever for a Habs telecast. The last game of the 2006-07 regular season against Toronto Maple Leafs drew 1.531 million.
That's what you get for covering Toronto 365 days a year.
I gave up on CBC, seriously... I'd rather watch RDS and Yvon Pedneault calling Kostitsyn "Kotitine" than listen to Don Cherry talk about the Toronto Maple Leafs not wearing visors and how Europeans are pansies..

I find it comical to hear a man who never won a Stanley Cup try to explain what it takes to win a Stanley Cup. Don Cherry has no place in saying what it takes to win the Cup.
That said, I don't speak French and don't plan to become fluent in French in my lifetime. I'll stick to the CBC and continue sending letters to them about their television content until they spend more time focusing on Canada and not Toronto/Vancouver/Alberta Flavour of the Week.
RDS habs coverage>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>CBC habs coverage...I still can't understand why people complain so much about Pedneault and Houde here...

Me either, I think they are great analysts. And if I ever learn french, I'll even start quoting them.
I watch the game periods on RDS, and if the game is on cbc, tsn, or Sportsnet I tune in there for the intermission commentary.

Society of complainers. I'm not saying that to attack everyone, because I'm one myself. I sometimes have to catch myself and say, "wait, why am I *****ing?". Internet's fault.

Maybe that's why you think Pednault is a great analyst. There is no other explanation. One day I just might record both RDS and CKAC and make a youtube of the same play analyzed by Pednault and Dubé. That should be convincing enough.

So maybe can you explain to me why Pedneault isn't a great analyst?
Why is it that RDS misses the first 5 seconds of the play after almost every face-off? I know they want to show some replays but I get tired of missing goals and great saves.
I am french speaking but recently switched to cbc for habs games. The sound quality is MUCH better and the analysts make much more sense than Pednault.

Houde is great, but Pedneault is abysmal
They still put on a better show than most hockey broadcasters, so yeah, people shouldn't complain so much and appreciate the fact that they actually put some heart in their work. (even tho I really wish the wizard would have given Pedneault a brain)

now that's just a bold-faced lie! No one understands Millen-ese.

That's completely unfair.
Pednault's a journalist.
Dube's a coach with lots of wins in his pedigree.
Dube >>>>>>>> Pednault, but it's not Yvon's fault.
Dube >>>>>>>> Pednault, but it's not Yvon's fault.
So you are saying that if I was the analyst on RDS it wouldnt be my fault if I was sucked? If that's the case ok...I can let it go. But then I dont want to hear anyone say he is a good analyst. Dany Dubé is a good analyst.
So maybe can you explain to me why Pedneault isn't a great analyst?
He just puts in to words what we already see on the replay. A good analyst will tell you why player X was out of position, why player Y was did what he did and what the other options where.

So you're saying that if your not as good as Dany Dube you suck?

I'm saying that there are most likely in Quebec other people who are closer to Dany Dubé then Pednault. But since RDS has all the Hab games these guys cant make their way like it was possible when there were 3 stations with Hab games.
