Not sure, but according to Brunnstrom he says he looks forward to playing with the Sedin's and the direction of the team. Will the firing change that? Im not sure, but could mean a very strong prospect is off the list, narrowing that list that much smaller this offseason.

It will indeed affect Brunnstrom's decision.
Nonis was reportedly a pretty big factor in Brunnstrom's decision because he had apparently agreed to let him play with the Sedins and give him top 6 minutes. Now that Nonis is fired, well... it's been said Brunnstrom and his agent are reconsidering. Not sure if he'll sign in Vancouver now.
Anyway, regarding the contract, from what I understand that 2 million would be including all the bonuses. He would have a standard entry-level contract. He would also be given a two-way deal. So for any team, it's not that much of a risk; if he hits all his bonuses, then he's worth his contract; if he flops, then he's still only making the entry-level and can be sent down to the AHL.

People who know Swedish hockey, say that this kid is more hype than substance. A nice pickup for sure, but not a phenom like he's made out to be.
Good, let a Western Conference team overpay for him, that way if he does turn out to be something, he could only hurt us once a year (and God forbid the Stanley Cup Finals). In the stats category in the SEL, he isn't even close to the amount of points Pavel Brendyl has, remember him? I may turn out to be wrong, but this kid was way overhyped from the beginning.

This guy is way overrated everywhere. There is a whole bunch of NHL players that have been on your team and the Islanders, that are ahead of him in scoring and points. He has a supposedly upside since he is young but I expect him to play here for awhile and go right back home.
If I am wrong, so be but he seems like another Brendl,Weindhandl player.
