2nd for Huet a steal... FOR US!!!

The Huet deal was the kick off Price needed to have confidence in himself, and looked what happens.. Price ends being the current best goalie in the playoffs at 20 years old and Huet has the biggest GAA in all of the 16 teams. Not to mention we have an amunition for a trade next year when we will become much better then we currently are

Not to mention that Huet seems to be making sure that if we win this series, we won't face the Rangers in round 2.

i think we made a great deal and got the best we possibly could of, however, the majority of the people on this board, disagree.

I think the deal has ended up very well for us, probably in one of the best manner possible. But I still think it was a very risky deal.

People keep saying it's "only" a second rounder too, take a look at some of our second round picks:
- Latendresse
- Lapierre
- Carle
- Maxwell
- Subban

Timmins will probably turn that 2nd into another beauty.

Depending on who retires after this year for Anaheim and what they do in the off season I think we might end up with a pretty decent late-mid 2nd rounder in a very deep draft.

Plekanec was a 3rd rounder
Ribeiro was a 2nd
Theodore was a 2nd
S. Kostitsyn was a 6th
Patrice Bergeron was a 2nd as well
Lucic was a 2nd too no?

This isnt one: this thread is about the 2nd round pick we had for him.

A LOT of hockey analysts say the 08 draft will be deep but the 09 draft will be much deeper. That means we will pick 3 guys in the 2 first rounds, wich is very good! (our 1st round pick, our own 2nd round pick and the pick we just got from the Caps)

Wow one round of the playoffs aren't over and the Huet bashing has begun again. How ironic would it be if the Bruins beat the Habs the next 3 games and won the series to repay Montreal. Good thing some fans here are so overconfident.

2nd round seemed like pittance but realistically I dunno what people were expecting... We thought Huet was awsome but in reality if you looked around the league outside habland you would've seen that there wasn't much market for goalies in the #5-#20 rung like Huet. Anaheim gave away Bryzgalov, a goalie equal to or probably better than Huet (younger and bigger), for NOTHING. Burke admitted there were no real bids for him so he had to put him on waivers. Most likely Washington was the only bidder for Huet.

He hasn't been perfect in the playoffs, but common.

2.50 GAA and .924 SV% over his playoff career is pretty ****ing solid.
