Habaholic Anonymous

Hi, my name is Kerberos and I am a habaholic. It all started at an early age when my father, who was a habaholic himself, introduced me to the substance. Later I couldn't live more than 3 days without it. However, I have been habahol free since April 29, 2004. Thank you habaholic anonymous!

My name is Kyrellian, and I... well, I am also a habaholic. At first, you know, it was just kind of a recreational thing. I'd watch a few games here and there, stick a few Lafleur posters on the wall and all that, just like any kid that age, but really all I wanted to do was get on the ice myself. Things got really bad though when I got off to college. Suddenly it was like I couldn't get enough. My studies suffered. I just couldn't miss a game, I began stashing videos of games all around my room just in case I needed a sudden fix. I started to find that I needed something stronger. The papers, the games themselves, that just wasn't giving me the same buzz anymore. I stumbled onto usenet, mailing lists, all kinds of really heavy stuff, until finally hitting the HFBoards. Skid row. (Hi Bill! .) I can't get free of this, and my life is in ruins. Habaholics Anonymous, please help me! Please!

Hey, my name is Darz and I am also a Habaholic. It all started at about the age of 4, when I watched my first NHL game on T.V. and the hab were playing. At first I was able to control my Habaholicism, but over time it got worst and worst. Lately I have found that I can control my Habaholism with by replacing the time I used to alot for the habs with drinking alcohol. I can't see how this could be bad, at all.

I'm not a Habaholic. I can stop any time. Nothing wrong with enjoying the Habs in a social way. It doesn't dominate my life. Gotta go. Some guys here, something about repossessing my couch.

Come on mcphee, the only way we can get to the heart of the matter is if you first admit you have a problem.

Well... I've sat staring at this thread for the past 20 minutes and... I- I.. I'm - I myself have to admit I'm a haboholic.. Sometimes I just GO HABS GO!lasdfgkl.. sorry.. I have these outbursts caused from my ad- GO HABS GO!-diction.. I could be sitting on a quiet bus or walking along in the streets then GO HABS GOORRRrrrrRR! I'll just burst out and scream. This happens during the season sometimes.. but usually after the habs GO GO GOOOOGgOO HABS GO! season is over and I go into relapse syndrome.

I can't type because my fingers are shaking.. I haven't had anything to hab in a few weeks now.. GO HABBBBBBSSBBSBSBSBS go!GO!GO!

My girlfriend bought me a Montreal Canadiens straight jacket to help me out with my relapse syndrome.. god GO HABS GO!OMASDKFKasdgfOGOSAKU! love her...

I also have to confess... I'm a Habaholic. But that's not my only problem.

I am a Koivuholic as well and can't get out of it. Does any of you feel the same? Am i the only one in this world? what is the meaning of life? Will the habs win the pro ball this year?
I might have to ask God Koivu again...

I am both too, habaholic and koivuholic....my advice Catala you just have to learn to live with it, it's chronic won't ever go away.

Hi everyone my name is Brisebois. I used to be a Habaholic. My morning prayers in the synagogue used to consist of three 'go habs gos' and a quick prayer for Souray's wrists.

I made myself a Yarmulka (skull-cap) in the shape of the Canadiens logo and painted my sidelocks red, white and blue. I was the only Rabbi in my neighbourhood with the Chtutzpah to wear a Canadiens jersey to Synagogue on Yom kippur.

I spent my evenings watching Canadiens games, and my mornings watching reruns of canadiens games. My legs would shake and all my 16 toes would quiver if I didn't hear/do/see SOMETHING to do with the canadiens for over an hour.

But now I am happy to say that after spending the last three years in this thread, I am totally cured of my Habaholism. I can now go out and enjoy a fresh new world. I marvel at all the crreations I never noticed before and my life is returning and starting to take shape again.

I've been off Habaholsim for 1031 days already and counting, and I feel that I am finally ready to step out of this thread and into the real world of HfBoards.

Follow me Lafleur. Good boy. SIT!!!

Hi everyone my name is Brisebois.

I am a Habaholic. Yes, I've been here done that... went through these programs, but so far nothing seemed to work. I even once was off Habaholism for 1034 days, but shortly after leaving supposedly 'fully reHABilitated', I found myself humming the Canadiens goal song (dj catala remix) to myself, and reading every possible post on the Canadiens. I was back in the hole.

I have tried everyhting but nothing seems to work. I think the only way to stop me would be to hold my eyes open with scotch tape, and force me to watch reruns of the Leafs winning the Stanley cup over and over again. I know it's a chance, I might commit suicide, but if it's the only way, then so must it be.

I brought along my friend Lafleur, who is trying to sell some cigarettes.

Oh yeah, then why do you have that Canadiens eye patch on your left eye, huh?

Lafleur thinks its time for you to come out of your closet.
