Rangers trading up proposal from #26

The Rangers currently have the Maple Leafs first round pick(#26) from the Brian Leetch trade. If Calgary or Philly wins the Cup,then the pick moves up to #25.

The Rangers also have 4 to 5 second round picks
#36 Rangers
#37 Rangers(via Florida through Colorado)
early 40's from Edmonton(Petr Nedved trade)
#46 Rangers(compensatory pick for not signing RJ Umberger)?
early 50's from Montreal(Alexei Kovelev trade)

What would it cost the Rangers to move up #10-15?No players involved,a straight draft pick deal

#10-Atlanta
#11-LA
#12-Minnesota
#13-Sabres
#14-Oilers
#15-Nashville

Last year it cost the Devils a second rounder, plus their first #22, to move down 5 spots to #17 and land Parise. Figure, the same for the Rangers.

Not really, Last years draft was much deeper than this years. That was the reason why teams were willing to move down and grab an extra pick.

Because this draft isn't that great outside the top 2 i wouldn't expect to many teams to be willing to trade down this year.

That is also the reason why teams were willing to trade there late 1st round picks in this years draft.

The Rangers would prob have to package there late first with a player to move down, especially if they want to get into the top 15.

I would do:

25th Pick Overall, 46th, and 50th...Maybe another 2nd round for the 12th overall and another pick...

I think the Habs may trade down if Ladd Stafford Chipchura or Picard are taken at the 18th spot

You have Stafford in there twice and all but Chipchura are going to be top 15 picks probably if not top 12...

Yes i Know the one i forgot is Picard but is another TOP15, that's why i can see Montreal trading down a few spots because apparantly A.Savard is pretty high on J.Fransson.

i disagree, i think because this draft is weaker...teams are more willing to move down. especially after the top 10 - i wouldnt be suprised to see a few teams drop down slots for extra 2nd rounders. the caps are in a good spot to move up, obviously the rangers as well. the canes have 2 2nd and 2 3rd rounders. with the draft being in carolina, wouldnt suprise me to see them try to do something. as for the original question, ithink the rangers could move up from 26 to at least the upper teens easily - dont know about much more than that though. all the teams 10-15 really need their higher picks.i think they have enough ammo to move up from their 6th - but they will get a good player there as is, i dont think thats necessary.
