That's the unfortunate part of the playoffs. You gotta get the breaks and take advantage of them. That's something we've never consistently done well in any three game stretch in the playoffs. And that's why we always go home way too early.
The frustrating part is that virtually every team that we lose to struggles to capitalize on their chances in the succeeding round, as if they got all their goals out of the way against us. This year will probably be no different.
The Wings are just the better team. That much is obvious. Still, the Preds closed much of the gap during the series and you can't ask for more. Hopefully, though, if the Preds are in the playoffs again next year, it won't be against the Wings again.
Sorry to hear about your elimination, guys. I was hoping the Preds would come out of this series. Kudos to your team for staying in this as long as they did, despite injuries. Ellis was great.
Good job Nashville, despite all the loss in the off-season you guys made it into the playoffs and put on a good showing, and most importantly the fan support is there.
Hey guys. Just wanted to say that it was one hell of a series, certainly gave myself and a few other Wings fans a heart attack or two. Ellis kept you guys in this, and he should be one hell of a goalie for years for you guys. You guys were all classy throughout, and that's always a nice change.
Kudos to the crowd for cheering as loud as they did, even knowing it was done there at the end. Hope to see you guys have a better season starting in October, should give the Wings major competition.
Gotta drop in to offer my parting shots to the Preds...great effort but the Wings really came to life in Game 5 and 6 after the goalie change. It's hard to win without your captain in the lineup as well. Ellis really stepped up when his team needed him the most but unfortunately the guy at the other end wearing the funny helmet was just a little better.
Just wanted to add my admiration of the Preds fans. The ovation after the game was a classy move. I never liked ending a season at home because I always felt like I let the fans down. I'm sure the team appreciated it and will take it into the offseason with them and want to come out strong next year. And hopefully you can figure out a way to keep Ellis. I watched him win a Kelly Cup and would love to see him get a chance with a good organization that has a great fan base.
I'm very disappointed but at least we have a season to look forward to next year. Trotz and Poile seem like they are content with just making the Playoffs and never really advancing. Hopefully the budget will not be bare bones next season. We have 4 top 50 picks maybe they will use them wisely.

I was a little disappointed in the play of a few certain players but it doesn't really matter anymore. We just didn't have enough bounces go our way. Not enough shots and scoring from top guys and too many shots/chances allowed. And too many injuries to important players.
I thought Legwand played great. I know he only played 3 games, and I am biased towards him, but I think he had a great series playing on basically a broken foot.
And big marks for Nichol getting himself back into the lineup.
Hopefully Arnott will be alright and nothing lingering. Radulov owes him.
Proud of ellis. He played so well all season as basically an unknown rookie. Very cool of Ellis to come upstairs after the game. He signed every autograph and posed for every picture until no one was left. Just a great guy. I hope we can resign him.
Extra proud of our city rallying behind the team to support them this whole run. This is what we had back in 03-04 but it was ruined by the lockout. Now with everything taken care of hopefully people will return in september. And it was great with a standing ovation for the team at the end of the game.
**Let the countdown begin....less than 5 months until training camp!
Game replay is on NHL Network at 1pm Monday if you want to watch.

The hockey gods do not love us From Arnott getting hurt by his own teammate, to 100 ft goals that bounce perfectly to the top corner... aye ca rumba lol... Every year its always something.
The 5 on 3 did us in, if we score there its a game, but as per usual our PP sucked. Not having Arnott hurt there. I would have liked to see ALOT more from Dumont, he was my biggest disappointment. Ellis was the best player of the series, we better keep him.....
Thanks to all the wings fans here, they were the better team of course. The turning point was going to Osgood. We've seen what happens when a goalie gives up softies, it deflates a team. Once that stopped we couldn't do anything offensively. We couldn't even get into our zone most of the time.
One day I would like to know how it feels to advance though... I'm not sure Trotz can do that. He can get us there, which is good, with arguably the least talented roster in the playoffs... but advancing, meh lol
But I'm still proud, they did the best they could.
