Playoff Gaborik

Needless to say I am a frustrated WILD Fan with them losing game 5. Yeah I know Theodore was on his game but I want to discuss who isn't.

In my opinion Gaborik is completely off his game and I don't know if it because it is the playoffs or what. He complains about not being in an offensive system but when the games matter most he HAS to perform. I put the entire blame on his shoulders. Not the defense or Skoula or Lemaire.

Superstar my A**

I hope he proves me wrong in the long run

how about maybe the fact that Adam Foote and Kurt Sauer are just plain shutting him down?

And really, as wild fans we have no reason to demand that his head rolls, considering he had 21 points in 23 playoff games coming into this series.

It's not just Gaborik, Demitra has 1 goal, and Rolston has 2 one of which didn't really matter considering when it came.
We have our secondary scoring fine, we need the primary guys to start putting pucks in.

100 mins of ice time and no points is unacceptable. No excuses from your top scorer. Sure Sauer and Foote are doing a great job but out of over 100 shifts, pp's you have to find a way to do SOMETHING if you are suppose to be an elite player.

It's also one playoff series and the Wild are still in it. Some of you panic way too easily.

Would your GM consider trading him this off-season to say the Devils? if so what would it take to get him?

Can't put it all on him, thats not right! Because he is playing lights out at times. But the NHL is not a one man show. Look at Iginla, does everything but his team is on the brink of elimination.

The top regular season players always gets extra special attention - they drop off in production during the playoffs...

Demitra & Rolston are both UFA's over the summer - I expected both of them to do something special to justify the offers - only one produced...

Is it just me who believed Foster's injury took away a lot of options..........

And in one of my hockey pools, I picked Backstrom to be the MVP as Minnesota won the Stanley Cup...

Backstrom had a .920 save percentage during the season - .893 during the playoffs... Theodore was .910 during the season - went to .940 during the playoffs...

I wouldn't lay all the blame on Gaborik...............

Could it all have to do with the fact that when other contenders added Forsberg, Hossa and so on, we signed Simon? For me since this day our team has not been a contender for the cup anymore - and a lack of ambition was there as well to see. Still I'm frustrated as hell seeing it all ended tonight... Damn!

So of course there's speculation that Gaborik won't resign (as per the CBC).

What type of package would it take, or is he still unavailable?

Actually I found the series very entertaining. Lots of speed, lots of checks, and lots of scoring chances. I love both the Wild and the Avs, and I wish the series would have lasted longer.

From watching the entire series I'd blame Demitra before Gaborik, but that's just me I guess.

Philly has pretty much shut down Ovechkin too to this point. The difference? Depth scoring.

Gaborik is an unreal talent. LA will take him off your hands for pretty much anything other than our big 3 prospects (Kopitar, Johnson, Bernier).
