Kovy was great tonight, but hands down best player on the ice was Carey Price. Without him we don't leave the first period up 1-0.

I personally don't understand the hate directed at Kovy considering the crap he was taking and had to fight though this series (with no help from the refs). Nice to see not only him but the Habs as a team play a super game tonight (after the first which I thought Price won us that period). Don't forget, Pleks wasn't his greatest either this series and a winger needs a good center just as much as the other way around.

as great as he played tonight he was pretty inconsistent this series.

Hopefully he brings his A game every night from now on.

Kovy will always be critisized, but not for the good reasons. Some people keep questioning his willing to work , and I don't think it's fair.A great player has bad games, bad plays, bad shots, bad everything, but when it comes to win they pull it off with no question.

The guy was a major, major team player tonight. He did everything a leader had to do.

It's hard to play hockey when Aaron Ward is allowed to punch you all the time.

He stepped it up when he had a leader to follow.

Great for him, doesn't mean I'll ever be totally confortable with him leading the team.

Critise his play in game 2 to 6 is not knowing nothing about hockey. Its being objective...

Kovalev played more bad games in 7 playoffs game than in a entire 82 seasons games. But great player step up in big moment and he showed us again how important he is in a game.

He played like a littler girl than Pleks for most of this series. He stepped-up tonight so all is forgiven .

But he did need Saku to hold his hand though, LOL.

He was magnificent all year....I had great confidence in him for this playoff....lets hope this series was a freak accident and we see the great Kovalev the rest of the way.

I'm glad he proved me wrong. But I don't want to be emotionally bankrupt anymore by looking for him to make the big goal or big play, I'll let him decide to do it and surprise me.

Kovalev and I can have a long, happy relationship if we continue this way.
