Who is a better matchup for us: Philly or New York?

Discuss. Are these still the lines for those two teams? Any injuries?

Kapanen might have a concussion so he'll be scratched for now.

Hartnell-Briere-Prospal (Caps will try to exploit this line)
Umberger-Richards-Lupul (vs Ovech?)
Upshall-Carter-Knuble (vs Ovech?)
Thoresen-Dowd-Downie
Cote-Kapanen

Timonen-Coburn (vs. Ovechkin line)
Jones-Kukkonen
Smith-Modry
Parent-Hatcher (he's trying to be back for first round)

Biron

Rangers:
Straka-dubinsky-jagr
avery-gomez-shanahan
callahan-drury-dawes
Sjostrom Betts Hollweg
prucha
Orr

rozsival-staal
tyutin-girardi
backman-mara
/malik

lundqvist
valliquette

Oops.

Voted Rangers, but meant to vote Flyers. The Flyers are like the Bruins, with more skill, less mobility, no transition game, worse goaltending, worse defense and not as gritty.

Rangers are a well balanced team, but I'd like to face them, just because I'd like to see Habs fan troll the crap out of their joke of a forum.

The Flyers, easily.

Success in the season against them, slow defence, questionable goaltending, although tough like Boston their forwards are small as a whole.

The Rangers trap just like Boston, except they have much better scoring and a much better goaltender. Bad record against them, the only win was a miracle. Not to mention the horrible ice at MSG and Avery.

Flyers, definitely.

Never wish for a team with a goalie that has a decent chance of murdering you single handedly.

well i think its flyers are the better matchup vs habs.
in playoffs, your goalie has to bring the A game and i rather want the habs to face Biron then Lundqvist.

I'd still rather play the Pens than the Rangers.

Forget that. I want to see Habs/Pens. It may be a tough series, but it could be the best hockey I've seen in some time.

Yeah I want to see the most epic run-and-gun conference final ever with the Habs and Pens, a series where physicality will be the sidekick to the first true exhibition of the next generation of pure hockey skill.

Wow, so many things wrong with this post. First of all, Flyers have an excellent transistion game, they love to make extended passes for odd man rushes. Also, the Flyers are more mobile, with way faster forwards. Lastily, the Rangers have an excellent forum with a lot of knowledgable posters.

Wow did I misunderstand the poll. I thought it was "who matches up better against us". Ooops.

Definitely Philly, Lundqvist is capable of stealing a series by himself, and the Rags are on fire. I think best case for Montreal is that NY has a grueling series against Pittsburgh, and in the ECF, they get to face the tired winner of that matchup.

As for the Flyers as a team, I'm not sold on Biron, and their defense seems kinda suspect. I dunno, IMO.

I voted Rangers.

We thought Boston would be easy.

We think Flyers would be easier than Rangers.

I go with Karma.

I don't think they have a trio that can match the speed of Plekanec and the two Kostitsyns.

Their style of play would force the Habs to play a similar game, which is what they should be doing anyways. Hard forecheck, speed, quick passing. It would be amazing to watch.

Plus who is going to stop Kovalev? Hal Gill? There is no Chara on their team.

Rangers 4th line against the Devils was:

Sjostrom Betts Hollweg

Prucha was a healthy scratch. Prucha's really not a 4th line player and with the top 3 lines playing well there's no room for Prucha as of now.

If and when Orr gets healthy, he might replace Hollweg as Renney likes him.
