Man I don't know if my heart can take series against the Flyers. It's gonna be emotional but quite exciting.

We have the number one power play in the league AND we scored the most goals. How does Philly beat us in forwards and special teams? Not to mention we have Price for the PK.

2 things

1) It''s more a case of not wanting NY than a case of actually wanting Philly

2) It seem to have worked pretty good for Pittsburgh the whole 'we won't admit that we wanted Ottawa but we can't say we're unhappy'

lol

Philly had the #2 powerplay so they'e not far behind. And theirs has been better than ours in the playoffs so far.

As for forwards, I think it's pretty close. If Gagne were playing, I'd give them the edge. As is, perhaps slight edge to us.

Exactly why I think they have a clear edge when it comes to PP as of right now.

Forwards are closer, but I would personally give Philly an edge. Overall, I like their physicality better.

I just don't think Philly's D can keep up with our forwards. They had a hard enough time trying to shut down Ovechkin. Can they really shut down Higgins-Koivu-Kovy AND Kostitsyn-Plekanec-Kostitsyn? I don't think they can.

My prediction: Habs in 6

Somewhere, deep down inside of me, would be completely fine with us losing this series, as long as Steve Downie gets a career ending injury.

That said, I'd much, much prefer a Downie career ending injury caused by Matieu Dandenault, suspending him for the NHL playoffs, and us winning in 4

Official Prediction? Habs in 5

I guess those bitter Bruins fans won't be cheering for a team from this series since they hate both the Habs and Flyers.....Anyhow enough about the Bruins, their fans and round 1 of the playoffs and lets move on to round 2 and start talking about the Flyers........Should be another tough series coming up.......Go Habs!!!!!

The important thing here is not for us to argue about which team is better but for us to hope that Pittsburgh loses in 4 games.

I can't believe we are doing this again! This is why my friend is always telling me Habs fans never learn.
Yes, we have a better chance against Philly than we do against NYR. But we underestimated Boston and they embarrassed the **** out of Montreal in six or seven different periods.
This is going to be close. Fun, but close.

The Caps's offense came alive when Boudreau split up Ovie from Backstrom and put it with Semin. That second line did good work for them.

NEVER Under estimate your opponent
do not forget Philly was picked as a legit contender before the season
and just took a seventh game and series on the road in overtime
against arguably the hottest team in the league down the stretch

They will come to play

respect your opponent but do not fear them
Habs play their game they will emerge victorious

Go Habs

ps I was a teeny bit afraid of the Rangers

Yes but I'm a little torn on this.
Watch Pittsburgh get swept? Yay. By a team I mostly like (Avery need not apply)? Yay. After they completed an embarrassing sweep? Yay.
Poetic justice for Ottawa? Happy Sens fans?

The Bruins series was good for the Habs and they will be better prepared for this series. Bruins made our Habs play a different kind of game which actually made us realize the Habs can play the gritty game as well as the skilled offensive game. Habs definitely have the advantage in goal. Mike Knuble is out which is a huge loss for the Flyers. Philly has one less day of rest than the Habs and have to travel to Montreal. Habs are sitting at home waiting for them. Advantage Montreal in the first game of the series. I'm banking on Montreal winning game 1.

Habs should win this in 6.

As far as I can remember, in our recent playoff history, I can't remember that we faced a Quebec borned goalie, and usualy, those guys are having big games in MTL... you just have to remember that Jocelyn Thibault got a shutout against the Habs this year IN Montréal...
So expect to see a motivated and very sharp Martin Biron...!

GO HABS GO!

It's going to be interesting to see how Carey Price reacts to all of the activity that is going to be around the net.

A number too big for Hatcher to understand.
