also it cost us absolutely nothing to get him, so we haven't lost anything.

I, for one, will miss his rugged Eerikki Koivu-like good looks.

I think a lot of people put Lahti on the 1st/2nd line at the beginning of the season because of our bad luck with forwards at the time and also for his possible "Finnish Connection" with Koivu. We had Lats, Higgins and Ryder shuffling throughout the lineup all last year, in and out of the top line, each one having some type of flaw.

Oh well, somehow I don't think it'll send our franchise into a tailspin like when Roy left. I guess it remains to be seen.

I think "Good Luck" would have been more appropriate because the kid was hardly a negative presence.

Most of the hype is coming out of the desperate Toronto and Vancouver media echo chambers and lapped up by their equally desperate fans.

We should get Brunnstrom just to make the Leafs fans angry and jealous and then have three good offensive lines!

My question is:

With a guy like Brunnstrom, do you think that Latendresse could be expandable? I mean, he could be included in a deal for a player that would have an impact on the team. I'm thinking about guys like Jeff Carter, Corey Perry (longshot) and even Antoine Vermette. Before you say it, I'm not talking about Lats for one of those players straight up. We would have to put him in a package.

So, do you think that Lats could be in trade talks this offseason?

The only way he could be 'expandable' is if he gets real fat and no: the Habs are going to be patient with him.

He's the same frickin age as Price so give him a chance! He's had already two 16 goals season wich is wayyyy better that Lucic 7 goals and you want to trade him??

Well at least he got to spend time in beautiful Hamilton Ontario in the winter. They can never take that experience away from him.

i would have like to see him stay in NA for another year... after all, it was only his first season in the ahl and next season, there's no doubt he could have done better job and that the team could have evaluated him better. too bad... good luck to him. it musn't be so bad to play in europe too.

I don't want to trade him...

I'm just thinking about the possibility of trading him for a young asset that would be a better fit with the young core we already have. That's a lot of "if". My comment was based on the possibility that we get Brunnstrom. The truth is that Lats will likely play on a line with Koivu next season if Carbo decides to make three offensive lines. But if not, I don't really see where Lats will fit.
