Could Svatos make a playoff return?

http://tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/...=nhl-avalanche

Just wondering how bad the injury is. He has not officially been placed on the active roster by the club and TSN has him out for the remainder of the regular season.

A torn ACL is not an easy injury to come back from, I know it can take sometimes 6-9 months to recover from, but I am wondering then why the Avs have not totally taken him off the roster for the year.

Is there a chance he makes a comeback in the WC or SC finals if the Avs make it that far? (which would be roughly 2-3 months after the injury occured)

He had ACL surgery within the last few weeks. I'd say there's about a 0% chance he plays.

No way he plays in the playoffs and depending on how well he recovers he might not make it back for the begining of next season.

No chance for Clark either. He had surgery on that dislocated shoulder, another long rehabbing injury.

I don't think we'll see the Svatosian One in the playoffs.

If the next round were in 2009, yes, but we won't be seeing Marek again in 2008. He only had his operation in early-April.

I thought there was a chance Clark could come back if we made the WCF or SCF.

Who does he replace? At this point I don't see any reason to change the defense.

I'm not saying he would replace anyone. But he would be available.

If he played he'd probably injure the shoulder again very quickly. He won't be playing again till next year.

Not only will Svatos not return anytime during the playoffs, but he'll also likely miss the start of next season as well.
Clark started skating again a couple days ago, but it's highly unlikely he'll return this season.

The AVs would be better off without Clark playing for him. He should only replace Liles (IMO) and I believe I'd rather have Liles out there with the game on the line. Clark is probably best used as trade-bait this summer...be it for moving up in the draft or just to clear salary space. I think the D looks much better now than it has since Clark-Skrats first year together. Why screw that up?

As for Svatos...Doubt he sees ice until the summer and am only hopeful that he opens next season for us. This latest injury has only one good upside...he might be cheaper to re-sign. I love his play and really want to see him with the team again next year. I think he and Forsberg on the same line would give any team a real handful which would open up other lines to even higher scoring chances.
