Who wouldn't welcome a quality 4th liner, natural born leader, strong defensive game, grit, and gives 100% all the time?

Habs Fans I guess
With London Knights the scouts found it impossible to ignore Tommy K. He got the nick Tom Nonstopolous because the guy never quits working.

That is what the playoffs are about. There should always be room for the Tom K and Steve Begins of the world

Garbage out... now garbage in.

Harmlik at $5.5M, then Smolinski and now this...
In regards to your insightful post;

The garbage player you're talking about is probably one of our three best forwards in the playoffs.Plus he was decent(solid in his role and relative to his signing) as a 4th line gritty energy player in the regular season as well.

Smolinski clearly underperformed during the season,I'll agree, but he was tolerable and came up big at times and has decently played in the postseason.

Hamrlik is definitely our 2nd best defenseman behind Markov. He solidifies the defense corps and stabilizes it,and he's a rock defensively, plays physical and considerably improves our transition game.Great element added to this Habs team.

Time for you now to eat a lot of crow?

There is no accountability on these boards.

None the less, so far Gainey's deals and signings are starting to look pretty damn good all the way from the trade for Georges to his off season signings. No one could have predicted at the beginning of the season that he would of been so clutch for tonights game and let alone the habs finishing first in the eastern conference

insight...

who would have possibily think that kostopoulos would have scored 3 important goals in 8 playoffs games.

I hate it when people bash other comments made last year.

I'm not going to do it as I never expected him to be so good in the playoffs.

No, he's just holding you accountable for one of the usual baseless, uninformed comments you feel you have to make about every other player.

If it happened more often we wouldn't get all these self-anointed clairvoyants telling the board in every thread how Higgins, Latendresse, Price, Chipchura and Fischer are busts without providing any real insight.

Btw, Andrei Kostitsyn says this:

"How you like me now?"

I was really disappointed that the Kings didn't keep him or the Flyers couldn't get him because this is the type of player that teams win with. Unfortunately for Tom, he's never been on winning teams.

He works hard, plays defense, kills penalties, he could improve into a legit 3rd line shutdown player.
Ha! I knew I was in this thread somewhere.

Like I said then, this bothered me from the get go that the Kings didn't keep him and the Flyers didn't go get him. He would have been magic on our team, and how he burns the Flyers in the playoffs.

He worked his way up and did it the hard way and knows what makes him successful. The Kings are where they are because they never know when to hold on to these guys (somehow Scott Thornton was a better idea)

I actually wasn't frank enough with what I thought. I thought I was more than 'disappointed.' This is a guy you win with. Glad you all like him now

Signing Kosto was an estute move by BG...he knew we needed more sandpaper, I think most on here, and the Kings board knew what type of player we were getting. He had a decent season, but there is no way any of us expected he and Smoke and Begin to be playing this well, it's great to see! These guys are just not shutting down the other team, they are making things happen, so basically the Habs are rolling four lines, all of which can make something happen...

I don't understand how anyone could not want K-dog. He's a roll player for this team and he's been doing 1 hell of a job.

Did you make any predictions regarding K-tops when he was signed? If not, ain't hindsight a wonderful tool?

His record speaks for itself. Luck can't have that much to do with it when you're right with that kind of consistency (Theo and Ribs trades aside, obviously).

Pretty much Jim Dowd with a little more clutch scoring, though, isn't he?

Younger, too. But there's one of these guys on every team. At least one.
