This has nothing to do with a Flyer fan thinking we are on similiar situations and there is some empathy for us and all this "we shall overcome" stuff is for the most part BS. Sorry but this Ranger fan still harbors years and years of hatred for Flyers pretty much from the day Dave Schultz beat the **** out of timid Dale Rolf back in a 1974 playoff matchup for no reason other than he was Dave Schultz and amazingly no Ranger came to Rolfe's defense. Years of therapy have not helped in this hatred for the Flyers....lol

Seriously, ONLY reason any Flyer fan would root for the Rangers right now in our series is cause they HATE and I do mean HATE with a passion, the Penguins even more than they hate the Rangers. I have buds who live in down in Philly and there is no question about this.

So we are the lesser of the two evils....that my friends is it in nutshell!
You might be right about a lot of the guys here that are showing support. But in regards to me the only part you got right was the part in bold. I really did come here rooting for you guys because I like your team and would love to face you in the ECF's. I guess one way I could prove that I don't have a hatred for the Rangers is by telling you I only started really really watching hockey in 2000. I never went through something like what you mentioned about Schultz so the only "hate" I have for the Rangers is a made up one to pretend I'm like any other Flyers fan.

Go back to page 2. I have a pretty long post in there explaining why I have a little something inside for the Rangers...where my respect for them comes from. Sure a lot of these guys have admitted they are rooting for you just because they hate PIT, but that's not me.

I appreciate the nice opening comment though. Thanks bud.

This should help change that...

I was at the game in the upper level above that "dodge" sign in the corner. I went to the game by myself because none of my friends in Philly were really into hockey. **** them. I go it alone.

All I remember was the goal being scored and hugging some random guy jumping up and down. That was awesome. And yes, I agree, didn't deserve a penalty shot because he didn't have control of the puck. But man was that game awesome. I loved going to Rangers and Flyers games.

I hate FLA!

This is hilarious!

Obviously made by a MON fan prior to game 2. The back and forth on Briere in the middle is awesome. Very well done.

Not to completely turn this into a mutual ****-sucking fest, but I can't help but root for you guys. You have a very likeable team (Richards, Coburn, Briere, Lupul, Umberger, Carter, VAN RIEMSDYK, etc.) and the Habs certainly do not. Keep it up.

He didn't beat it. It was the European strain, so it quit before the job was done.

same here, this flyers team isn't the one of yrs past. I still don't like Hatcher or Knuble that much, I kinda liked Gange thou, wish he was with the team.

My temp Philly love is really because I hate MON and PItt, and they feel the same.

If the devils and piles can have a permanent alliance, I think us Ranger/Philly fans can have one for one PO sereis. Then its back to rivals again of course.

Good job by Philly tonight. It looks like the Habs took lessons from the Pens in not only the diving department, but in the toughness department when those 2 guys teamed up on Downie. At least they held on for the win...hopefully we repeat that tonight.

Perhaps it has to do with the way Canadiens fans acted during our 5-nil collapse, but I find myself solidly rooting for Flyers in this series. Somehow, it doesn't feel as sickening as cheering for the Devils.
