"You don't target Kostopoulos," Hatcher said. "You target [Saku] Koivu and Kovalev."

No way. That would be pretty incriminating against Philly if they did.. you don't talk about it then do it.

They're just trying to throw the Habs off their game and into theirs. It's a trap.

If they're going after Kovalev, I personally drive down to Philly and hit the ****'er in the face.

He's a veteran trying to distract the Habs is all...

The Ref's also read the paper and will probably throw him right in the sin bin for looking at Koivu sideways now.

Just posturing. Besides Montreal is the more physical team and I think a heated game would play into our hands as Philly doesn't match-up well in a heavy hitting game... they're too slow.

Derian Hatcher looks like he has the IQ of bag of wet hair....I doubt he even knows what a trap is.

Maybe Kostopoulos shot on Timonen was a pay back for the shot Hartnell took on Plekanec at the end of the first period .

Its the playoffs, you dont give the other team any reason to wanna beat you more.

Will it get more physical, yes, It will
will they target certain players, no, they wont

Good luck targeting Kovalev all you'll get for your trouble is an elbow sandwich or he'll deke you out of you underwear. As for the incident with Timonnen, well let's just say Kosto might have been a smidge out of line, but what bothers me more is that the flyers now know they can get under our skin so they'll be looking for more opportunities. Downey will be let off his short leash and if the first 2 games are any indication of the refereeing then penalties will be hard to come by.

It could have been handled differently by both coach and player. Kosto said the right thing (IMO), Carbo should have left this one alone. Yes he's only trying to shield his player but Kosto clearly needs none. This should have been a motivator for our team but it's turned into one for them.

Darian Hatcher looks like the kinda guy who would get lost in a phone booth.

AKA an inbred hillbilly.

Oh ya, forgot

It's all talk, the hitting may be a little more, but that's it. I do NOT hope Cote plays though, he is not needed. But if he does play, he does hit hard, so Habs will have to watch themselves.

ps

I have no issue with what happened.

I assume they were targeting Koivu and Kovalev anyway. Isn't that the way it usually works in the playoffs?

That's what I thought too. I'm not saying it's not dirty, but Kovalev fights fire with fire. You do something cheap to him and he's shown he has no problem returning the favour. He's an eye for an eye kind of guy.

They already gave Koivu a sucker punch last game. Kosto on Timonen was just retaliation for that

Most certainly when we're up 3-0 in the first.

We kinda need him outside the sin bin, though.

Hey, I don't blame his sister.

I mean, he wasn't even paying child support. I can see why she'd be angry.
